I just wanted to say, I hope both the USA and Canada qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Will any Canadians/Americans be tuning in at the end of the month? (Not trying to turn this into a soccer thread, details on the upcoming games can be found on latest page on the qualification thread).

The whole 1980 Olympic boycott kind of put me off even paying attention to the Olympics. I did follow Jeff Float in the 1984 summer games, that is the last time I think I even watched the Olympics. And as someone who Produced newscasts for 42 years, the restrictions the Olympic committee put on information.........and video in newscasts were so impossible, some years we were only allowed to report the medal count. Especially if the network covering the Olympics was time shifting when they were showing an event that happened at 5 am in our time zone, but wasn't going to air until 5 pm, we were not allowed to say who won.

I’m curious if the ratings for the NHL games will be higher than the CANMNT/USMNT games this week. Are any Canadians/Americans thinking about possibly watching the WCQ instead of the NHL games which are on at the same time?

Moose. Probably because two of my Canadian cousins totaled cars hitting and killing moose (meese?) And every time we go to Canada, my wife is on the lookout for moose.

Frosty.
After a huge snowstorm a week ago (60cms/24 inches where I live) and a 15 cm/6inch dusting Monday) we are expecting a stretch of sunny but frigid temps. This morning it was minus 25C but with windchills of minus 32C. (Minus13F/-26F) more of the same to come! ❄🌬

If you're talking about Netflix' Anne With an E - yes!! I binged it over Christmas and I'm a little abashed that it took me so long to watch it.

Amazing. After a brutal late-December and early-January, a Chinook blew in almost two weeks ago and took most of our snow with it. It's rarely been below zero during the day since. Daytime highs are looking fine!

The first ones arrived with the Spanish in the 1500s.

I would have suggested the bison.
