I hope everyone is doing okay with the smokestorm covering our two countries.

The smoke is unreal this week and we aren’t even that close to it. You smell it as soon as you walk out the door and they said it will be worse tomorrow.I hope everyone is doing okay with the smokestorm covering our two countries.![]()
Here in NY, we are going to be dealing with it until at least tomorrow. The smoke is unreal this week and we aren’t even that close to it. You smell it as soon as you walk out the door and they said it will be worse tomorrow.
I feel so bad for the people that lost everything and are still fighting this.
Canadians, I heard that Canadians are considered more shy as a population than Americans. Would you agree?
No I’m not shy…lol I will talk to anyone.Canadians, I heard that Canadians are considered more shy as a population than Americans. Would you agree?

I'll try to frame it differently. There is a stereotype that Americans are loud, proud, and boastful. The Canadian stereotype I'm referring to is that most are overly polite, quiet, and more introverted than out going. I'm not saying I believe it but I'm curious if any of it has some merit.I can’t speak for the country as a whole, I am a shy person, I thought I would grow out of it, but it is what it is. Shy is not the term I would use, nor have I ever heard that to be honest.
Here in the Hudson Valley it's finally getting better. All seems to be better (knocks on wood), was not good at the beginning of the week. And I had to constantly clean disgusting ash from my patio furniture, which made me limit my outdoor exposure except for dog walking. After seeing that, it made me wonder what I was inhaling. I smoke, so that’s being a hypocrite, but I don’t need more![]()
At least where I live, we love small talk.No I’m not shy…lol I will talk to anyone.
My husband tells me sometimes ,they don‘t want to talk to you…lol
I have a lot of experience with Americans, being in the USA, I do find they/you can be loud and proud, but boastful I don’t know ? I always think it’s a great thing.I'll try to frame t differently. Reserved is the word you're looking for and yes, in my experience, Canadians generally are more reserved than Americans, at least in public.I'll try to frame it differently. Why is that in your opinion?Reserved is the word you're looking for and yes, in my experience, Canadians generally are more reserved than Americans, at least in public.
I think you answered your own question...Why is that in your opinion?

Are you saying you are more reserved due to the American stereotype or that you are perceived as such due to the American stereotype?I think you answered your own question...
