I heard the Leafs have a tee time for the morning.

Edmonton done too now. I’m not a hockey fan at all, but it makes me a little sad. I would have liked to see Toronto go all the way - I might have even watched a game or two.

Would rather have watched Edmonton win the cup. As a Habs fan I can't ever cheer for the Leafs.

I've got no stake in the hockey thing but wouldn't have minded witnessing the "once in a millennium" event that a Leafs win would have been.

I don't see any mention of house hippos. They may have actually gotten me to watch soccer if there were house hippos.

Tune in at 10pm ET Wednesday on FS1/Universo (in the USA) to find out. I would love to see the house hippo be Canada's WC mascot. The memes alone would be worth it. I'm trying to find out what channel the announcement will be on in Canada for Canadians living in Canada. I will edit this post when I know. Just an FYI, Canada is in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals playing in June. So you can watch your national team try to win a trophy (but they will have to beat Costa Rica and Mexico/USA to do it.).

Skipping threads is easy. Having to wade through multiple comments in the thread is not. And you had agreed to avoid soccer posts here…

To be fair, you criticize most of what I say. The previous post was not about soccer but the mascot that will be chosen that symbolizes Canadian culture. You often miss the context of my posts.

I wasn't. The post was talking about an international tournament that will feature a mascot that symbolizes Canadian culture. I was talking about what the mascot should be based on that culture best known by Canadians. You have every right to skip the remark, just like I can skip any post. You can use the ignore button on me all the same if you want. I won't take offense. I try my best to come up with discussions for the thread and half of them often get ignored anyway or unfortunately criticized. Feel free to post your own question for the thread.

I really have no clue. I don't follow hockey or baseball. If I did follow baseball, it would have to be the Jays, and no doubt I'll "jump on" if they manage any playoff success. I can say I've single-handedly inducted at least a dozen of my friends, family and coworkers into rabid Raptor-fandom, after falling in love with them myself during the 2019 championship season.

You are missing the point. Most people in this thread have stated numerous times that they have no interest in soccer or the world cup. Those that do are happy to share in soccer discussions on any one of the number of soccer threads you have started.
