Americana Niagara resort ? Opinions please.

Just booked two nights here for April/2010 ( 2 adults, 2 kids 9 and 12). Rate was under $100US/night including taxes/passes for 4/breakfast.

BUT since booking have read some awful reviews on tripadvisor.

So looking for some opinions on this resort from fellow DISers. After staying at Great wolf, Niagara fallsview waterpark, disney waterpark, wet and wild, canadas wonderland etc etc. just wondering if this might be a real disappoinment for our 9 and 12 year old? Can always cancel for a full refund if need to.

Any opinions on the Americana resort/waterpark would be really appreciated.

I took my little sister (she's 14) there for her birthday in March and she loved it!

I on the otherhand, didn't find much appealing about the waterpark. I'm more of a lazy river kind of girl.

Where did you find such a great deal?

We've stayed there and it was great but we had a little kids. I've never been to GWL but I'm guessing it has more and is bigger.

It was nice though and super clean if that helps. And for the price, we thought it was worth it.

Have not been to Americana ourselves but have two families for friends that have and both gave good reports. Both have children under 7yrs old. Said that for the rate it was totally worth it.

Have done GWL in Ohio and Kalahari, but considering the rate at Americana I would give it a shot.

I have stayed there and compared to the GWL it is much smaller in size. But none the less it was fun.
