Does anyone else out there love American Vybe? They perform in the rotunda at the American Adventure before the movie five days a week (check your entertainment guide, folks :) ). They are really fantastic--did a wonderful show of Christmas songs and classic songs. I had caught the tail end of one of their performances in August, and made a point of catching them this trip. They are definitely on my not to be missed list.

I picked up their CD, and it's a lot of fun. I'm a huge fan of the Broadway musical "Rent" and when I saw them in August, I told my sister I felt like I was watching the cast of "Rent." Imagine my surprise when I look at the songs on the CD, and see that they perform a song from "Rent" on it! It's great :)

Actually I don't car for them. I would much prefer the Voices of Liberty that they replaced. I know VOL do perform a few show but it greatly reduced since AV came along. That is a great disappointment.

We enjoy them greatly, one afternoon in July we caught all of the shows--DH especially enjoys them. We also have the CD, I think it is great to mix VOL and AV, having only one venue can be so limiting.

I saw them for the first time this Summer and I thought they were great. I love the swing songs they do.

I saw them in October. They closed the Wayne Brady show the day we went for the taping (Tuesday 10/7). What was funny to me was one of the guys was the lead singer in the singing group for Tarzan Rocks show when we were at AK on Sunday! One of the girls was in both, too! Guess they get around ...

Agree with you Karen. We caught them in August also. Katie insisted on getting a cd!! It's in the car at the moment. Can't wait to catch them over the week-end!!!

Which guy was it that sings at Tarzan Rocks? We love Billy! We will have to stop by American Adventure and see if he's there next time we go. We love American Vybe.

Actually Voices of Liberty are the primary prefomers at the American Adventure. Normally American Vibe only does 2 days a week. Currently they have some of their cast at the tree lighting ceremony. I think the AV preforms on Friday and Saturdays. Sometimes they have both groups on the same day but not too often.

I have a funny story about American Vybe. On a trip earlier this year, my husband and I wandered into the American pavillion tired and weary. We sat down as we waited for the American Vybe performers to come out. We had never taken the time to visit this pavillion before. As we sat on a bench, I rested my head on his shoulder. We both began humming the tune "Lean on Me." How in the heck is it that only minutes later the performers show up and, still sitting quite a distance from the rotunda, we start to hear the faint melody of the very song we were just thinking of and humming ourselves. CREEPY!!!!! We were both just goofy as can be about that. Of course, we were astounded by their performance of this and all the other songs they performed. What a great group of performers! Sorry that my family missed them on our trip a few weeks ago. However, we did is VoL perform Christmas carols. What a treat!

Put my vote in for Voices of Liberty. Both groups are great singers, but I just feel that Voices of Liberty compliments the historic theme of the American Pavilion better.

Mommie2angels, I don't know what his name is. They were not introuced individually, and I can't remember what they said at TR. He has short dark brown hair w/ sideburns, really cute and clean-cut looking. I think he was one of the shorter ones, if memory serves.

I love American Vybe too!! I'm hoping to catch them next week. What kind of songs are on the CD? Are they American standard? Every time I see them perform, I think "I need to get that CD", but by the time we watch The American Adventure, I forget. Maybe I'll remember this time! :D Oh, and one more question, does anyone happen to know what the names of any of the girls? One of the girls (the blonde with blue streaks) looks so familiar to me, I think she may be one of the girls who was in The New Mickey Mouse Club.

Songs on the CD include:

Go Tell It On the Mountain
Seasons of Love
Fever
Lean on Me
America the Beautiful (I think)
Rosie
Ride the Chariot

There are others, but I can't remember them all off the top of my head. But it's a fun CD, well worth the money.

They have a hard time keeping the CD on the shelf. I only got one because there were two hiding behind another CD the day I went. The cast member told me they just can't keep them on the shelf.

Actually, Vybe normally performs Tuesday through Saturday, five sets a day at American Adventure. Voices of Liberty are on Sunday and Monday (seven sets a day) and Tuesday through Saturday, three sets a day, in between Vybe sets.

Vybe currently sings in tree-lighting, and Voices in Candlelight. And the two groups have several common members.

In the picture of American Vybe (link posted above), the blond girl (3rd person from the left) is Jennifer McGill from the Mickey Mouse Club that ran on the Disney Channel in the 90s.

Lisa, thanks so much for posting the picture for me. There are only a few of the ones that we saw last time. I wonder how many they have to rotate between. Thanks again!

we really enjoyed AV at Easter... way better than the main show afterwards. Fantastic voices and the setting/acoustics seemed to work great!

We enjoyed watching them too, but when I saw Voices of Liberty last year it really made my heart soar! They were a perfect opening to the uber-patriotic American Adventure show. I was very disappointed to have missed VoL and to see how few shows they were doing compared to American Vype.

Does anyone know what happen to one of the AV singers last week. We went in around 2:15 or so, i think on friday and they were running a stretcher in and ran up the walkway inside (before you get to the escalators). They had just announced AV was coming out and then hurriedly said, due to unforeseen circumstances, AV will not be performing the rest of the day. They made us enter the theatre from the exit (right side). We never did hear what happened to one of them. Someone had mentioned one of them was laying flat out on the floor.
Did anyone else happen to be there?
