That one might be a little different because it says "Canada Residents". But you should always call and ask. The worst that will happen is they say no.

I would never think so hard/ work the angles just to get in on an American deal, but if you feel fine booking it knowing it was meant for Canadian Residents, and you have no issues with that, then all the power to you, I guess.... Personally, when great AP/ Florida rates where out for Universal, I found myself wishing I could take part in the deals, but knowing I didn't qualify, I didn't try and find a loophole or way around meeting the requirements, I just decided I better wait until something came out I could take advantage of....it is just a matter of a waiting game, I am sure this offer will eventually be offered fair and square to others, why not just wait until you can legitimately book it instead of trying to find a back door into an offer meant for Canadian residents?

Not all offers do though. Canada got a RO offer but the US didn't. I would have loved to book it through the Canadian site.

The bottom line is this deal was only for Canadian Residents and with those words it should be clear enough to any of the Americans that this offer is not for them, so I don't care if they were able to reserve it or what a Cast Member might have said.

Now to those who say it's no big deal if I wanted one of those Florida Resident deals or the Florida Annual Pass since it's less expensive then what's the problem with me getting them, because you don't seem to mind taking a deal meant for Canadians like myself.

I can't say I am shocked that she has now turned around and attempted to take something that isn't available to her. Pretty ridiculous imo.

Correction it was the "any rumblings about new 2012 codes" post where the OP specifically posts "I'm glad that Canadians are getting the discount, but I want one too!"

It no place does it even mention the word "Canada" or "Canadian" in any step from the booking process through the confirmation page and terms of the agreement. That's what people aren't understanding. If it said "for Canadian residents" ANYWHERE then I would 100% agree with you. But it doesn't, so I don't.

Comparing this with the Florida Resident deals which clearly state the restrictions is like comparing apples with carrots.

If it is a domestic offer, show me where it is on the US Disney site. The US has a free dining offer but it doesn't extend as far into 2012 so that is a different offer. Can you also show me the domestic RO offer for the US for the fall?

Just because it isn't posted on the US website doesn't meen it isn't a domestic offer. Tons of companies offer promotions you can't just find in plain sight on their website. Per Disney, this offer is NOT restricted to Canadians and ANYONE can book it on the website, including people who live in the US.

To be fair, I can see both sides here. I will point out that I have to work hard to get to the US version of Disneys website. Most anything I click will set me back to the Canadian one.

I have called and neither offer is available to US residents. I have also asked via online chat and gotten the same answer.

I haven't actually seen how this offer was written so I can't personally determine if it was meant for Canadians only but this makes me think: IF it states nowhere that it is a Canadian offer and it is simply on a Canadian website, there shouldn't be anything wrong with booking it as long as you are able to book it with your US address. As a Canadian, I am always buying things on US sites and as long as they allow me to, I can assume that the offers were not meant only for US citizens just because it's on a US site. A similar example to this would be the fact that I can book hotel and air through Expedia.ca or Expedia.com. Sometimes it is cheaper on the American site, so I book from there. Is this being dishonest? I have bought from Amazon.com (instead of Amazon.ca) also for the same reason. I can't speak to the offer that the OP refers to, but in my case, both Expedia and Amazon allow for international customers. I am simply choosing to deal with a US website for my transaction.

Spent 2 hours on the phone today with WDW. Spoke to 3 supervisors and multiple Cast Members. You are breaking no rules or voiding any contract if you do this from outside the US. One person likened it to your local walmart selling a product for 10 bucks and youfinding it on walmarts website for 8 bucks. Another said it happens all the time and it is completely ok to do. There is no rule or anything else limiting it to Canadians. They. Also said you will not be looked down upon or should not feel as if you are cheating Disney. The offer is out there and people who find it are free to use it. It is no different than people who try to get pin codes by saving vacation offers or ordering planning cds. Hope this helps others.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. I have called and asked. The RO is not available to US residents. I'm not interested in it but I've been told the same thing about the dining offer. Take a look at my ticker. I would love to move to a deluxe resort for my trip with the RO Canadian discount. I've called multiple times and spoken with supervisors and been told no.

This is exactly how I feel. Yes, I put some thought into this. I do not have a thick wallet, but luckily I do have thick skin.

For those that are interested:

1. I booked through the Canadian site in August 2011 for a trip in August 2012 with free dining.

2. I then went to Disney on a previously-booked trip in September 2011.

3. While I was there, I went to both the check-in desk and the concierge desk to "verify" the details of my August 2012 trip. They asked me if there was a problem because it looked fine. I told them that I booked it on the Canadian site and was worried that I might be asked for a passport when I returned next year.

4. I was told by the CM that he has "never asked for a Canadian passport" and that the system showed I had a vacation booked with free dining. I was told the same thing at the concierge desk.

5. I wrote down their names and am looking forward to my August 2012 vacation with free dining.

Just sharing my story, no comments on morality please.

I think that this is because the American and Canadian sites share a booking system. I don't feel like we'll run into any problems. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

How am I wrong? NOWHERE have I said the Room only offer would work. I said it probably wouldn't.it says for Canada residents. Free dining does not.

I called again today and was able to book free dining with the code on the website even though I gave a US address. I didn't end up booking bc I already have one but they said it was fine. I also verified my other reservation with now a 4th supervisor ands told again that it is not only for Canadians.

Don't know what to tell you, my reservation looks no different than any other according to not 1 but 4 supervisors and 4 cast members answering phones.

I'm just going by what have now been nearly a dozen Cast Members saying is not restricted to Canadian residents. Again this is only the free dining one.

Yeah I think the difference is that some cast members and people on here view it as a "Canadian Discount" where as other cast members and people on here view it as a "discount on a canadian website that is available to all".

I'd be curious what happened if you called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. Or if you booked it online and called to see if your reservation had any restrictions. Perhaps I got uninformed people 8 times. I did speak to 2 others who passed me to someone else because they were unsure. Again, only with free dining, not room only.
