Danny Gokey: "Stand By Me" (Danny IS old) but I don't know if I love this just yet. Well, I love HIM, but the song leaves me cold again this week. Though the end got much more interesting than the beginning or the middle. I liked it but didn't love it.
Kris Allen: "All She Wants To Do Is Dance"..now I LOVE this song but I don't like this arrangement at all. It's too slow. But I still like Kris. I wish this was a bit more melodic too. A shame.
it cracks me up that the judges comments ALWAYS so closely match mine!
Lil Rounds: "What's Love Got To Do With It"..I don't know, but certainly I know what talent has to do with it. And with this song, talent isn't doing ANYTHING with it. I can't STAND her vocal affectation (the way she pronounces certain words) and there were some "power notes" in there that simply hurt, like that last note. This was just terrible.
Anoop Desai: "True Colors" another song I LOVE. I can appreciate this stripped down arrangement and I think Anoop is doing pretty good with it. I never heard the "excuse me?" comment last week, so phooey on that! I found him sweet and enjoyable.
Scott McIntyre: "The Search is Over" Awww...it's like being back in 5th grade staring at the cute boy across the lunchroom table. He didn't like me either! This is just sad to listen to! That attempt at a falsetto is going to get him crucified by the judges.
Allison Iraheta: "I Can't Make You Love Me" This is a song I hate (I actually hate all of Bonnie Raits stuff), but so far Allison is doing a respectable job. She needs to keep her eyes open a bit more while singing, because I feel her losing the connection a bit. But what SUPER vocals!
Matt Giraud: "Part Time Lovers" Now WHO doesn't love this song?? Doing his best Justin Timberlake impression, Matt is definitely entertaining, but vocally it isn't his best song. I can really appreciate the way he has made it his own. Had he been at the piano for this I think I would have loved it (and his "yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!! was silly)
PS...was I listening to the same song as the judges???????????
WHAT THE DVR???!!! The stupid show runs long and I lost all of Adam's performance!! Wait, what? Oh thank God we taped Fringe too. Adam'sperformance is on the beginning of that.
Adam Lambert: "Mad World" I really DIG this arraingment. He commands a stage, owns the mic lays it DOWN and never apologizes. I dig it dig it dig it. HOLY HAND GRENADES! Standing "O" from Simon. What a night.

A very interesting night for sure. Highlights and lowlights with what I think is clear cut winners and losers.
Top o' the world:
Adam (uh, duh!)
Allison
Middle of the Pack
Anoop
Kris
Danny
Bottom of the Barrel:
Lil
Scott
Matt (and it pains me to put him there)
Going home? Oh, SCOTT, for sure (but I wouldn't cry if it's Lil. Judges save anyone??)
