He looks just like his dad with his natural hair color.

Well it's now a day later and I figured I would have moved on by now. But I have to say that both my mom and I are still upset and keep thinking about it! I just feel so bad for Adam. I know I know...he's gonna be fine. But I'm still upset about it. My mom has been losing interest in the show and watched this season only because she fell in love with Adam.

Anyways, my mom said that my aunt's mother (in her 80's) called my aunt to say "I'm never watching American Idol again." My mom also said that my grandmother (78) called her at work today to say "I'm never watching American Idol again." :rotfl: This is the first season my grandmother started watching and she is in love with Adam (his voice, his eyes and especially his smile).

I went over to her house today and the first thing she said to me was that she's never watching again because she's so upset. We must have had at least a half hour discussion and she just kept saying how she doesn't understand how Kris won because he's good but he can't reach the notes that Adam can and doesn't project as well as him.

But the funniest part of the night was this quote from my grandma: "Adam is a filet mignon steak, but Kris is just a hamburger." I swear I almost peed my pants. :rotfl2:

As long as you're not married to him! Oh wait a second I've got my story mixed up he's the one that got beat right??

I saw the Commodores in NYC in the 80's. It was a benefit for the UNCF and my friend and I were the only white people in there. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen!

That's like when I went to see Modest Mouse... I felt like the only person there who wasn't a college student or a parent chaperoning their kid.....

:lmao: OMG, that is too funny. I have tears in my eyes I'm laughing so hard. Also, I love the analogy of Adam being filet mignon and Kris being hamburger. It is especially funny to me since I decided to name Kris BK (boring Kris).

Have you gone and watch his interview videos (both after the show and this morning)? If not, you need to. It makes it all so much better because he just has such an awesome attitude about it all. Also, the "print" interview that is up on EW's site is good (and funny). He is so gracious, funny, inspiring, uplifting and well spoken. It is hard to believe that anyone would be hateful towards him.

Because being a great singer doesn't come down to volume and range. I am guessing Grandma is a BIG Whitney/Mariah/Celine fan.

You should hook her up with that youtube video of Adam singing Brigadoon. She'll probably cry. It is SO pretty.

Hmm...rolling your eyes at my grandma. Nice. But anyways, I can't say she's a fan of any of them.

Wow does he look like his dad when he has his natural coloring!

That song was really corny. And makes me sooo glad my graduation was indoors.

I would have liked him if he would have just sang like that (no rock wails!) all season but I understand it's not his style so it's all good. :goodvibes

I'm seeing a trend since DC's is davidcookofficial.com. :thumbsup2 I wonder if they also bought up chrisallenofficial since so many people spell his name wrong.

Yep. So are some of the other idols if you go back I know Kelly's was like that when she first came out, may be like that again.

This is true. While Adam is a technically great singer, I just didn't "feel" anything like I did with David Cook and Kris this year. David Cook is far from the perfect technical singer but he has a lot of emotions that I can feel when he sings, which makes him appeal to me.

I'm sure Adam fans felt something when he sang but I didn't.

I've never liked filet mignon. Screeching or not. ;)

It's funny you say that. My husband and son dislike Adam. But the one show where he cleaned himself up, slicked back his hair, and dressed "normal" was the only show where my husband said that he thought Adam had the best performance that night. But my husband is conservative and doesn't like nail polish on guys and eyeliner.

There is no doubt in my mind his own prejudices influenced him during each of Adam's performances. Plus my husband is a country fan and was horrified after he heard Adam's Ring of Fire. :lmao:

That tells me that every other show he was judging Adam by his appearance and attire. Adam could have changed to be someone who could have won the show, but I'm glad he didn't.

The year Daughtry was on, Simon tried to get him to change too, but like Adam, he didn't do it. Daughtry being true to himself ended up working out very well for him.
