I guess I'm a "youngun'" because when I heard about that song, "I Fall To Pieces" my first thought was the Velvet Revolver song, NOT Patsy Cline. :rotfl2:

I am so glad I watched this on the DVR tonight. Could not listen the whole way thru on Lacey, Didi, Paige or Lilly. Any one of them could go and it wouldn't be too soon for me. I thought Lilly really slaughtered that Patsy Cline song. :scared1:

Katie almost reminds me of Carrie Underwood. She has a good voice, but there is no emotional connection to the song. I always felt that way with Carrie also. I think some of it comes from experience, but some of it also comes from singing being your passion. I just don't get that vibe from her. I tend to get the "oh, look how cute, isn't she a good singer, lets have her sing for the family tonight after dinner" vibe.

Katlyn Epperly was okay, but I think there are just better songs to choose.

Siobhan was good, I like her voice, just wish she would try for (can't believe I'm saying this) something younger and more up beat. Not dance upbeat, but more rockin upbeat. I'd say she was my second favorite of the night and I did text a couple of votes for her.

My favorite of the night was Crystal. She really feels what she sings, gets lost in the song and is passionate about it. The exact opposite of what Katie does.

When whatsherface (white hair/goth eyes) started singing "I Fall to Pieces," I asked DH to go get the gun. :headache: She desecrated Patsy Cline's song and memory and for that I say, "Get a rope!" It was hee-jus. She sounded like a singing babydoll.....painful and horrific were the kindest words I could use for it.

All I could think of when Katelyn Epperly sang "I Feel the Earth Move" is that she looked like Laurie Partridge standing there and banging away on that keypoard. I halfway expected David Cassidy to pop out as a backup singer. :rotfl2:

I do not dig Didi. Her "quirky" factor has grown old and she seems to be yet another girl channeling Cyndi Lauper....and I was never crazy about her.

I just do not see this as The Girl's Year. :confused3

I didn't get to watch the show yet. Did I miss anything? Should I even waste my time??? :confused3

I've spent the entire evening preparing a toxicology talk for 100 2nd graders. :scared1: Wish me luck! I think I'm going to need it!!!!! :upsidedow

It is actually painful to watch this years AI. This week bored me to tears....the only one that is semi decent is the dreadlock girl with the missing teeth. I hope the guys do better tonight but not seeing much there either-

That was the reason I never liked Carrie Underwhelm. She would sing a song like she was reading it.

I'll never forget her singing Macarthur's Park which is VERY deep and involved and Ryan asked her if she knew the meaning of the song. She shrugged her shoulders and said "I dunno"...:confused3 Ugh, the writer in me vomited in my mouth... :scared:

Singers who smile during sad songs, whine during uplifting songs or just perform it instead of living it... KILL ME. David Cook and Michael Johns put their heart and souls into songs, it's why they connected so well. You left hearing Billy Jean believing she REALLY existed!

Wow, they just get worse each week. I am still holding to my theory that they picked this crew for the sole purpose of killing ratings so they can justify canceling the show next year. Even my Idol fanatic DD14 is sick of it this year already.

What SHE said!!:lmao:

Actually the first and second place vote getters on that are who I would choose to be there too. I would but that Siohabban (or however the heck you spell that name) in the bottom- don't like her at all!

I don;t like Siobhan either

Right in line with what I thought, too. Crystal just showed she really wanted not only win but to actually try and PERFORM.

Lacey did a good job covering a Brandi Carlile song...no easy feat.

I think your toxicology talk may be more interesting than last night's performances. Except for Crystal Bowersox, skip it. There was no feeling or "connections" to the songs.
