American Idol Top 20 Season 9

I missed tonight's episode since I was on a flight to Chicago. I'm finally here and just got the text from my sister on who was booted.

Really? Didi, Lacey, and Paige all made it over Katelyn? And Tim, Aaron and Andrew all made it over Alex??? What is going on here? There are very few contestants that I actually like this year and Katelyn and Alex were two of them. Especially Alex...I saw a lot of potential in him. I was really looking forward to watching him grow every week since I think he'd be really good once he worked on his nerves. He has a really nice voice and I saw him going far. He was actually the only one I voted for last night. This season has just gone from bad to worse.

Every year there's always that one Sanjaya/Megan Joy/Kristy Lee/etc. This year I have no idea who that's gonna be because there's so many that fit that position. They might as well just boot Crystal next week and Lee the week after that. It seems like they really are trying to make this the crappiest year ever. Uggh, it's so bad American Idol had to end like this.

Did anyone else think Crystal looked ill? She didn't even show any enthusiasm when she made it through.

I thought she looked ill on Tuesday night also. The way she sat down immediately after singing and something about the look on her face. I think that she is trying to sing through whatever is wrong with her without making a big deal out of it. You have to respect her for not trying to get mileage from a sad back story like some other contestants have done.

I am guessing that she is dealing with a diabetes complication. I hope she takes care of herself. Being on this show is so stressful, she will really need to protect her health.

I thought the same thing Tuesday evening about Crystal when she sat down on the amp. Hope she's ok, for me she's the best on the show.

I think hate is a pretty strong statement. Being an old soul has nothing to do with it. You can be an old soul and still sound good and perform good. I didn't like her singing voice and personally I am glad she did not go to the top 12, but I wouldn't say I hate her.

I agree. I simply don't like her voice, nor do I like anyone else's voice except for Crystal and Mike .

Lilly wasn't particularly orginal but she stood out and would have made the season interesting. The shameful glut of acoustic guitar singers this season is just plain weird and is bringing the season down. The Top 12 might be good singers but I don't see star potential in anyone. The little girl Katie Stevens could be a star one day but she's too young and too directionless right now. At least others in her age (David Archuleta, Jordin Sparks) knew their market and had a bit more refinement than Katie.

I don't see Katie being a 'star'. She is too plain--not that she isn't pretty but she is too girl next door, cheerleaderish. I do see her doing well in Broadway musicals-that is the kind of voice she has.

I mean I really could care less, neither did Ithink would go far but in my eyes, Lily was a million times better every week than the other girl she was standing with. The only consolation I saw was I wouldn't have to hear the other girl sing the song at the end of the show. I know I will probabbly have to watch her twice next week, but I'm kinda one to push off those painful exeperiances for as long as possible.

I didn't hate Lilly but I did absolutely hate what she did to I Fall to Pieces. That was one of Patsy Cline's masterpieces and I think Lilly made a huge mistake by butchering that song. I thought Lilly was OK until then. I know that you can't expect someone to have the range and depth of Patsy's voice, but Lilly, in addition to not being able to hit the notes, turned this soaring song of despair in a light little song. And she accompanied it by a mandolin? That was just wrong, wrong, wrong. I thought she deserved to be voted off for that alone. It was my opinion but I think shared by many that you just don't mess with Patsy Cline's songs.

I tink she was trying give it a haunting feel echooey(ALA Ink Spots Frankie and Johnie album). Only it was really haunting. Good for the credits os some B Hacker movie about somebody who cuts people into little pieces.

Cuz it's FRIDAY!!!

My entire office gets a break on Fridays, it's the slow work day of the week. We ordered out chinese food and we're having a buffet!! We're setting up long tables for everyone to sample. Several people are bringing in ice cream and cakes. We're even inviting those RADIO people from across the hall , we're the TV side!

So far I have so many gifts, balloons, baskets and FOOD I can barely walk in my office. This is amazing because this was my very first birthday with this company, I started last April.

What a happy place to work!!

Certain things in my life I canNOT forgive and messing with Patsy Cline is one of them!

I also feel that way about Maxwell but Mike survived my hitman...

I am highly HIGHLY disappointed that AI made my Tuesday, Weds, and Thursday nights UNwatchable now, I guess now I need to get a life..

What a useless, talentless, uninspired cast. I'll watch...or not, this season. It'll be no skin off by butt if I miss something, but watching the debacle...the inevitable crash and burn, could be worth tuning in for.
