i'm gonna ask an OT question you guys, but it SORT of pertains to this since i'm sitting on the couch watching Idol on my laptop.....

my sciatic is KILLING me and idk what to do to get it to feel better. HELP!! i can't take ibuprofin becacuse i already take that for a problem with my knee.

Yea I feel bad for him. He looks like he felt he really deserved to go home. At least he gets another chance and can hopefully do better next week.

Have you ever been to a chiropractor or had x-rays taken of your lower spine?

I have some lower back issues and went thru spinal decompression about 18mos ago. Worked great but it's creeping back in now.

Might want to consider something like this for a bit of relief while sitting:

I use one at work and it helps. Lets the spine sink into that open area and takes some of the pressure off of it.

Know that feeling. Don't have insurance, myself (even though I'm full-time...just can't swing $400/mo for myself) Was on a cash basis with my chiropractor but since I've moved, I haven't tried looking for a new one yet.

There are minor-ly invasive techniques (steroid shots into the disc to reduce inflammation), if that's the problem. Most chiropractors offer free consultation/x-rays. Worth a shot.

There are also very small wedge devices (about the size of your fist) that you place under your lower back when in bed that helps with keeping the spine aligned (if you can sleep on your back all night)
