I'm a little behind...remember, I use a DVR. Here are my thoughts about the guys (PS, all my comments are typed as they sing...BEFORE the judges comment):
Todrick Hall...."Since You been Gone". An odd choice. I don't like this arrangement at ALL, but I'll give him an A for originality and effort. The vocals are weak, but the "performance" was (as Randy would say) a'ight.
Aaron Kelly...."Here Comes Goodbye". Okay, what is with the southern accent thrown in?? Ugh. He sounds strained, and his performance is wooden. Also, I see he got dressed up for the occassion. Is he going to Math class or performing on Idol??
Jermaine Sellers...."Get Here". This song couldn't BE more boring, and he's practically whispering. There are some notes in there that don't exist in nature. It hurts mommy...make it stop.
Tim Urban...."Apologize". This song has been done to death and he's popping the mic. I hate to say it, but he's no "David Archuletta" (who rocked this two years ago). This is out of tune and he can't hit the high notes. Poor Chris GoLightly is probably mad as hell right now, watching Tim BLOW the chance that should've been his.
Joe Munoz...."You and I". Wasn't he Jose last week? Is he trying to make himself a bit less ethnic? But so far he has the best vocals of the night. Good on him. He needs an eyebrow waxing. But Finally my ears didn't hurt!
Tyler Grady...."American Woman." WTH??? I just don't get this performance. The vocals are super weak and I really think he's taking this "Jim Morrison" thing too much to heart. I'm not sure there was a single note in tune.
Lee Dewyze...."Chasing Cars". He's got a good "band voice". Ya know...drowned out by guitars and drums. Ugh. So many missed notes, so many grumbled lyrics. Also he is singing through his nose...like he's singing while trying to take a dump.
John Park...."God Bless The Child". I hate this song too. SO BORING. ZZzzzzzzzzzz....huh? Wha? Still going? Umm...he can sing. Please somebody tell him to pick something from the last 50 years next time.
Mike Lynche...."This Love". At least this is upbeat. He's got something about his voice and presence that just makes me smile. I think he could make an album...pop..hip-hop. I'd like to see him SING a bit more. This song is a bit monotone, but he was the best of the night so far. PS...I thought everyone said he got the boot??? Looks like the rumors were all wrong.
Alex Lambert...."A Wonderful World". He's got a fun tone to his voice, like Jason Mraz (or Elliot Yamin according to DH). His stage presence is SO STIFF. I assume he's nervous, but he looks like a mannaquin. The voice was super duper...the performance needs work.
Casey James...."Heaven". Smart...a guitar and a stool. I think my underwear just fell off. Holy hot! Even Dh said "better than Bryan Adams". This guy knows who he is as a musician and can deliver. I'd listen to him all day. Sounds like a young Bob Segar. HAWT!!
Andrew Garcia...."Sugar We're Goin' Down". What a nice tone he has to his voice. He'll lay down some seriously good tunes someday. He is easily the best singer/performer of the group.
And that's all I have to say about that!
