American Idol Season 9 Thread

she was telling him no = not on his singing but based on him being a father, having a family and being a pastor.....

...yeah, I understand, but that situation could pertain to any of the would-be contestants...

This crying fest is one reason I don't think 16 year olds should be able to try out for Idol. No child should be put through something that heartbreaking just for fame and fortune. The parents blow sunshine up their butt their whole life then someone else has to tell the kid the truth.
I disagee.....what about cheerleading, football, play tryouts??

It could - but WHY say no based on that? Ridiculous.

...oh NO!! NOT......

GIGGLE GIRL!! :scared1: :scared:

That's a much smaller scale than national TV. Plus, most kids who try out for those have actually started at the bottom and worked their way up. You don't see a kid who has only played football with their dad in the backyard trying out for an NFL team. I think more of the kids trying out for Idol are like that rather than ones raised singing like David Archuleta or Alison Iraheta.

...I met Cheap Trick - THEY DO NOT HAVE BRITISH ACCENTS!

First off, why would you even sing Cheap Trick..I mean I liked them back in the day but I don't see their stuff as being challenging or something would show off your voice.

I laughed over the fake accent.

LOL! Are they frisked before they come in here? Good question Katy.

lol

I agree, most can't handle it.

that one chick was the one from sanjaya's season!

I thought it was...I see I was right.
