Pleeeeease let there be good talent again this year. I want someone as original as Taylor Hicks, with as much soul as Fantasia, with an angelic voice like Justin and with the looks of Bo Bice. I DO NOT want boy band singers or pop music divas.

It's almost time!! I guess some people don't like seeing the bad singers or something, but I like the whole process, especially watching your favorites go through all of it. And of course the bad ones make for good TV too. Can't wait!

I LOVE AI!! I have actually been watching last season on the Real TV channel! I absolutely love Taylor Hicks!! I actually picked him during his audition to go to the end! I actuallly wanted Elliott and Taylor to go head to head in the final show. Elliott is very talented!

It all starts over again tonight!!

If anyone is interested in seeing the finale show with Taylor and Katherine they are airing it again tonight on the Real channel and on Wednesday night is the winner announcement show (Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken)!!! I've got my Tivo set!!

Thank God it starts tonight! I don't know if I could've waited another day. Will it be a chick or a dude this year? Only time will tell, although Seacrest was on the Today show this morning and said that the girls were super talented this year and that we'll see quite a bit of backstabbing between them. I'm looking forward to this season also. My sister auditioned and I was her "guest" at the auditions. It was a cool experience to see who made it through to the next round. They don't actually get to sing in front of the Paula, Randy, and Simon until the 3rd round.

I took a few pictures of those that made it through while I was watching, hoping to get a glimpce of them on the show.

I don't mind watching the bad singers but I do think they go a little overboard with it.

Yes, but only out of sheer unadulterated boredom.
Actually I thought last year was by far the worst if you're talking talent. Taylor winning to me was a big joke, but I'm sure I'm going to get flamed by some Taylor lovers now.

Actually I thought it was the "worst" idol ever. Carrie Underwood kind of spoiled me on AI, anything less than a talent like hers and I'll be disappointed.

While I was sitting there I didn't see any noticable horribles get sent through, but saw one gimmick. Some lady had a big cardboard prop of some kind and I saw her get sent on the to next round.

Honestly, I have to wonder if they don't approach these people and tell them "hey look, your not so hot, but we'd like to air you anyway for the show" giving them the option to do so. Sometimes it looks as though they are totally shocked so you really do wonder.

I agree, it wasn't my favorite season at all. I watched the tail end of season 1, missed 2 and 3 and picked up for 4 and 5. It really all boils down to opinion and music taste preference.

I am so psyched for AI to start - but I can't wait until they get through these first few shows (with all of the "bad" auditions). It's funny for awhile - but I'm more interested in seeing the talented folks!

I've watched all American Idols and have to say that last year was the best to me.
