#2436 has a great voice. I liked him - missed his name

It's David Radford and he's the friend of my DD I posted about yesterday!

woo hoo! He's going to Hollywood!

Well, that was entertaining!!! It is always so neat to look at these young kids and wonder what personalities are going to emerge over the next several months.

My bad--I so totally could swear they called him Paul (and I thought Paula said that)--I guess either Simon or Randy were asking Paul(a) what she thought. Oops!

He was wonderful--and I will still call him Harry Connick Jr. :goodvibes
(and I mean that as a compliment!)

:rotfl:

That's great! Call him Harry Connick Jr.-that fits!

We call him young Frank Sinatra since he's got that look ;)

He's a really great kid and I know that all of the Acapella choir kids are freaking out right now!

So cool when they taped all that extra stuff at his house. And to see "Crystal Lake" on the screen!

I kept screaming with excitement during his segment!

Betcha he's going to have a fun day at school tomorrow :).

Not so much into Frank Sinatra--but I would guess HCJ may have had the same comments when he started out--I don't know.

But he was crooning--and looked like HCJ and I said--darn you're only 17!

Yep, it's going to be interesting!

The choir director volunteered to go with him if he made it to Hollywood. You know, to coach and "support" him through this time ;)

I don't think the HS district would give him that kind of time off

David will be heading out sometime this month! :goodvibes

Oh my, you were right, he is a hottie! And the voice...I loved it!

That girl with the hair, tan and makeup...OMG! My girls couldn't believe that was her mother! They were both a wee bit overdone.

Don't joke, I work with a girl like that [IN BANKING]. Nice girl, but the lights aren't all on upstairs, KWIM?

What was up with that last guy? Dave? He kind of freaked me out a little bit.

Kind of? :scared1:

The "I shot the sheriff" guy had me rolling.

I watched tonight, but it will be the last time. I've really had it with AI. This will be my last post on this thread so I won't bring the rest of you down that like the show.

I've just really had it with Simon. I know that people going in should know that the judges can be harsh. In reality, many of those people have no idea what they are in for. They really think they are good. Now, I have no problem with them telling them no and even putting their poor auditions on the show. After all, that is why people watch. I do have a problem with Simon being so over the top mean. For instance, telling the kid to shave his facial hair and become a woman. I just don't feel it is necessary to totally humilate people. I think it is sad that this type of thing has become entertainment. One of these days, Simon is going to say something to one of those young people and that person is going to walk out in front of a bus. I wonder if Simon will even care.

Sorry, I just needed to vent.

Carry on!

Did you notice that "tan girl" had two segments and wore different shirts? She was one of the performers who butchered Lady Marmalade. :confused3 I know it was her because of that "tan" and the pink cellphone hanging from her jeans.

Debloco, what a cutie and what a talent!! I wish him luck!!

Don't know if anyone here would know the answer to this but here goes.

Do the people shown on the audition shows have to sign a form stating that if they get trashed it can be shown on TV. The girl with the trahs mouth was on the screen for awhile, I wonder if they have to sign a release, cause she sure wasn't shown in a real good light.I did feel sorry for the boy that Simon told to shave his facial hair, but a few minutes later the camera was outside all in his face, if he was that embarrassed would he have let the camera record it the phone call part? I wish I knew what all the behind the scenes stuff is, I have a feeling a lot of it is staged.

The tan girl was a riot but you have to admire her confidence.

I liked the crooner and both sets of twins from what I saw of the show.

I felt really bad for that guy and I too wondered how emotionally fragile some of the auditioners seem to be. What Simon said to him seemed overly harsh - the guy didn't even sing that bad. :confused3 I wonder if they have psychologists on staff to deal with the kids that take it really badly.

That being said, these people know in advance that Simon is a jerk. I think some of the parents share the blame - those who blindly support their children singing when they CLEARLY have no talent. I'm all for encouraging our kids' dreams but if your child sings like a dying cat, why agree to let him/her audition and be ridiculed?
