I can't wait for the hilarity tonight .

Ohh, this is going to be good!

As soon as I read it this morning in the USA Today I was like no, no, no. It was pretty much a given that ONE of them would do it but I sure wasn't expecting it to be her.

:rotfl2: KELLIE SINGING BOHEMIAM RHAPSODY.....i was wondering which one was going to attempt it, but never imagined her!...hey DAMO...that kalan porter is awesome, i clicked your link, great voice..does he have any cds out yet?

Oh HE****LL to the no! (sorry, couldn't resist channeling Whitney...)

I have been thinking all week that Paris would be going home tomorrow, but if Kellie sings what everyone says she's singing, then Ms. Pickler is FINISHED.

I predict that the bottom 3 will be:
Bucky (you are SO lucky that Kellie is singing Boho Rhap)
Kellie (Countrified??? You EEEEeediot!)
Paris (you're lucky too. I dislike you more than Kellie, but there's no way she can sing that song.)

Let the games begin! I am so giddy about tonight I just can't wait to see it!

About the whole Mandisa controversy (the "n" word). I hope to God it never happened. If it did, then she is by far a class act for handling herself like a total lady the entire time. DH and I thought she looked angry at the vote off...angrier than she should've been. If someone said such a horrible thing, it explains a lot.

Innuendo is such a strange song. Maybe I'll like Chris' version better.

I have to agree. :guilty: I love Chris, but his last song, IMO, was waaaay too far from mainstream. I worry that this song will have the same effect. It is probably one of Queen's "darkest" songs (not to mention one that few viewers will probably know), and I think Chris needs to move in the opposite direction in order to keep on top. I hope he proves me wrong.
I think We Will Rock You would have been the perfect song for Chris, but then again, what do I know? :confused3

ETA: Sorry, I didn't mean his last song (that was good), it was the Creed song he did 2 weeks ago.

Has anyone listened to Taylor's existing music? Apparantly he has a CD out, 3 songs to download are here: https://www.wbhm.org/Tapestry/bands/TaylorHicks.html

(scroll to the bottom)

As much as I'd like to see him recognized as the winner, I'm afraid - after listening to this - of him actually winning and having his great music ruined. I may try to pick this CD up.

Oh, and sorry if this has been discussed. There are 267 pages here and I may not have been through them all. But I really wanted to share this!

Thanks for the link. I downloaded all three and plugged them into my iTunes. Personally, I think that even if he wins, I don't think he'd change and I don't think they'd let them change him.

I think I mentioned before that Ace's parents live in our town. And we are a very small town - only 7500 people. So, if you don't know everybody in town - you know a good percentage.

So, in keeping with the small town tradition, our local Old Chicago is starting Ace Young nights on Tuesdays. Dinner and then they will show Idol. Everybody was told to bring their cell phones.

I was bummed that we couldn't make it tonight, figuring it might be Ace's last night, consequently the first and last Ace party with the neighbors.

But maybe there is hope with Kelly singing.........

"Idol" Missing Chicken Little?
By Joal Ryan1 hour, 3 minutes ago
The sky is not falling on American Idol.

But the Fox singing competition arguably is feeling the loss of its own Chicken Little, with ratings down in each of the weeks since 16-year-old Kevin Covais' was ordered to fly the coop.

On Mar. 21, Covais, the purported favorite of little old ladies and the original candidate of votefortheworst.com, sang "When I Fall in Love" on 1950s music night. The episode was watched by 33.4 million, per Nielsen Media Research, the show's biggest ever Tuesday crowd. A night later, the baby-faced crooner dubbed Chicken Little after the 2005 animated film was shamed as the lowest vote getter, and dismissed.

One week after that, viewership for the competition episode celebrating "songs of the 21st century" dipped 5 percent from the previous Tuesday. And the trend continued last week, with the Tuesday night numbers down 14 percent when compared to the final Covais-graced Tuesday night.

Votefortheworst.com creator Dave Della Terza wasn't surprised to hear of the viewer defections.

"[Covais had] the whole 'why is he still around factor,' " Della Terza said Tuesday. "A lot of people tuned in to see how far he would get."

In Covais' absence, Della Terza said viewers have been treated to so-so entertainment because "the bad singers
aren't even that entertaining."

Overall, though, Idol remains a blockbuster.

The show is averaging 31.1 million viewers on Tuesday nights, up 14 percent from last season, Fox said. And while Kenny Rogers Roasters' namesake and country music didn't attract record numbers last week, Idol still dominated. Tuesday's installment (28.8 million) was the number one show in the latest Nielsen rankings; Wednesday's (26.2 million) was number two.

The remaining eight Idol finalists try their luck Tuesday night with Queen covers. And Della Terza, for one, can't wait to catch his site's new "worst" candidate in action.

"Kellie Pickler is going to do 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' " Della Terza said. "We hope that will bring the spark back to the show."

I miss Kevin. :duck:

Woohoo!! Always good to see an article with Dave (Mr. VFTW himself) being interviews, thanks for posting that!

And I agree, I miss Kevin. Bucky is one of those that makes you wonder why he is still there, but he just isn't very entertaining and we haven't seen much of a personality from him.

Hmm--Bucky did well. I will admit that I am not familiar with that song--but heck, I understood what he sang and it sounded good to me.

Darn. What song did he end up singing. I missed it putting DS to bed.

Please turn up the base...or whatever so that we don't hear Ace as much.

Bucky sang Fat Bottom Girls (I think that is what it is calleD)

Ace--I didn't hate it. But I woudln't be jamming to it either.

Complete and utter mess...does Simon come up with ANY other sayings?? :confused3
