Wow, dialidol has some surprising results on there. I don't think those 2 are the bottom 2 though. I would put Bucky and Paris in the bottom 2. but that is JMHO.

It's getting tougher and tougher every week to choose who should go home. The playing feel is pretty close this year.

i really hope you are right. those are two of my three favorites, including my very favorite singer left in the competition. but dial idol was way off the mark last week - i hope they are again tomorrow.

They had Katharine and Ace right last week. They just seem to have a hard time nailing the bottom one. It was the same with the week that Kevin was booted.

Apparently, they have made some changes to their "formula". We'll see how it goes.

Is Idol not on tonight?

He has lost the distinguished look. Now his face looks like someone is pulling the skin back too tightly. Does he actually think that he looks good now? That's such a shame.

Okay, I just caught up and I am completely in the minority this week. First of all, I think Kenny looks great! I'm not really a big fan of any particular type of music. I like country about the same that I like pop music. Here is my take on last night. I really think the back-up singers sing too loud. like someone else said, they are there to "back up" the lead singer - not drown them out. I felt they drowned out most of the singers last night. I also think the band is too loud.

Taylor - It sucked. I can't believe how bad it was. I hate John Denver's music, but I thought Taylor would at least make it better - not so much.

Mandisa - Also sucked. I am thrilled that she didn't scream last night, but she really sounded horrible. I had to laugh at the "last year's dress is just a little too tight" line.

Elliott - He ruined one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists. Why didn't he listen to Kenny? He always has to put a R&B spin on every song. Elliott, for future reference, the word "come" only has one syllable - not seventeen! Again, I don't like him - reminds me too much of Scott Savol.

Paris - While she looked adorable last night, I hated her performance yet again. She sings in one tone - never higher, never lower - the same monotone voice thoughout the entire song. I love Leann's version of this song and Parish paled in comparison.

Ace - You go boy! He sounded amazing and he didn't even gross me out with those oogie eyes or his rehab hands last night. His best performance since the first week.

Kellie - I hated it. Her voice is way too twangy - even for country music. Reba is a great singer and Kellie ain't no Reba. She always looks so angry when she is singing and does too many pageant movements during her songs - like grabbing toward the camera and squating with one knee bent on the long notes. And then, she went on national television and said (I'm paraphrasing), "I'm not acting, I'm really that dumb!"

Chris - The best performance of the night. I loved how he slowed it down and still showed that he has talent. No screaming - just a great voice.

Katharine - Loved her voice - hated the song. I really don't get the cocky feel about her. In fact after every performance, she seems so giddy and relieved that she finished without falling on her face. I did hear on the radio gossip just now that she is a scientologist - maybe she can hook up with Tom after this is all over.

Bucky - I thought he was great as usual. His voice just suits my taste (or lack of according to some here ). I think the band and back-up singers were too loud and drowned out his voice. He was trying to sing softly and they were screaming in the back. One thing about Bucky that most are forgetting. The judges certified Bucky as a country singer - not Bucky. He sings southern rock - big difference. When Kenny said, "You ought to be good at this" he even jokingly responded, "You'd think so." He seems like such a great, genuine guy and I wish him the best. He is the only one that got my votes last night again.

What was up with Ryan Seacrest last night??? He looked like a Ken doll I had when I was little. You know the ones with the beards that you could shave off with hot water???? I kept wanting to shave that mess off his face.

The show was only slightly better than last week. Kellie did OK but I don't like the way she pronounced some of the words (like town). It was really distracting. I thought Bucky did really well. You could understand him but the band was so loud you couldn't hear his voice sometimes. I liked Chris much better than last week. Katharine and Paris bother me because they don't show emotion when they sing. They sing a sad song with a smile on their face . Takes away from the song and doesn't make it believable. Elliot was OK for me too byt Madisa and Taylor weren't so hot last night.

S0 I watched the videos on rickey.org

My top two:
Ace - I think he's found his country crossover niche - finally. I hope it's not too little too late though.

Chris - loved the softer side and he has a good range!

Next up -
Katharine, Kellie, Elliott and Paris.

Botton three:

Mandisa - not her genre, consistent as always but not as good as the above.

Bucky - maybe if Kenny Rogers didn't tell him to overenuncicate, I wouldn't have thought of it. IMHO, he was hard to understand

Taylor - pains me to say it, but yuck. However, I think he is safe because of his base. Hopefully, the worst is behind him.


Who do I think will be bottom three?

1) Ryan's 5 o'clock shadow, ala Don Johnson in "Miami Vice", was attrocious. Simon totally nailed him fro it later in the show. Somebody get that boy a BIC!

2) WHO told Kenny Rogers to get his face lfted a zillion times?? He looks almost as comical as Joan Rivers. It didn't even look like him. And the makeup people should have done something about the bad sunburn on his neck.

3) I detest Kellie's stage presence. He singing...meh. I was a fan early on but now she has got to go. Aside from her predictable "squat and grab" technique where she squats and grabs toward the camera to punctuate certain notes in the song, what is UP with her eyebrows? Dh started laughing that maybe she was transmitting a secret code to Al Qaeda with her eyebrow twitches/raising. Her song choice stinks worse than yesterdays diapers (to quote Baby Herman).

4) Someboday get Mandisa a fashion stylist. She CANNOT where tight pants or sleeveless tops. That halter she was wearing was horrible. It made her look freakishly chesty, the stripes accentuated her girthiness, and the lack of arm coverings showed off her flabby bat-wing arms. She is a beautiful plus-sized girl and needs to dress appropriately to show off herself.

5) Katherina needs to pep up a bit on stage. It always looks like she had a couple of Xanax vefore taking the stage. Luckily she has a voice..a darn good one. But she has no personality.

6) Ace needs to do less of the "not-a-thought-in-my-head-I'm-just-a-deer-in-the-headlights" look. I can actually hear the sound of crickets chirping when he stares like that...like not a thought in the world going on up there. The light is on but nobody is home. Very smooth of him to let them announce his newly "available" status. It'll help bring in votes.

7) Every week they cut off a little more of Taylor's hair. Not necessarily a bad thing, as he now looks much younger (almost looks his age!). If they dye it, I'll go crazy mad! He needs to go back to being TAYLOR on-stage. I need the "Woooos!" and the crazy spaz-dancing. I tend to think he was so uncomfortable singing that song that he just hid behind the mic.

8) Elliot needs stage lessons. He just bounces from one leg to the other while standing in place. I commented to DH that he is probably an awkward dancer (and likely hates slow-dancing). Someboday needs to teach him how to work the stage...even if he doesn't "dance".

9) Nothing to say about Paris....she WILL go home tonight.

Queen next week aye? Now THAT I am excited for. Queen is really hard to sing. There are so many terrific songs to pick from. Taylor, Elliot, Chris and even KAtherine will be ok but all the others will have a REALLY hard time.

My favorite as usual was Chris last night

I dont listen to country music, but I thought his song was very pretty.

I was mad at Simon last night-Elliott's song was just as slow as Chris's, so why did he only rag on Chris about boring song choice? Simon is so inconsistent in his reviews. And his raving about Paris? Sorry, I just didnt hear it. I agreed with Randy and Paula on that one, she just didnt have much energy during that song.
I am really tired of all the bickering between the judges and between Simon and Ryan. They should really spend more time focusing on the contestants than that crap.

Lauri was trying to figure out what bothered her about Chris when he was singing. Not that she doesn't like Chris, because he's in her top 2, but she keeps saying something bugs her about him when he's singing and she can't put her hand on it. Then last night it hit her. He stares dead into the camera, head tilted to the right and practically never blinks through the entire song, even on a ballad like last night. Lauri kept saying she wanted to take the TV and tilt it on it's side so she could get rid of his head tilt.

I'm a chronic head tilter!!! Everyone makes fun of me for it!!! Maybe we have weak side neck muscles or something. Guess my neck and I should hit the gym.

Most of the time I agree with Simon. Sometimes he is using his reverse psychology on the viewers. He knows the raw numbers. He knows, most likely, who will be the top 2 or 3.

I am really tired of all the bickering between the judges and between Simon and Ryan. They should really spend more time focusing on the contestants than that crap.

I don't like the bickering. It's not funny. It's annoying.
