American Idol Season 14 Official Thread

Really? All you're gonna sing is, "you're gonna change my world" over and over again?

You deserve an adios.

Well, I think I am leaning towards the guys so far. There are a few that are catching my attention.

Haven't had a chance to watch yet! But I do have some more details on the detroit part!

The show will tape back-to-back episodes at the Fillmore Detroit on Feb. 19, showcasing the season’s Top 12 guys and Top 12 girls. Those episodes will air Feb. 25 (guys) and 26 (girls).

“Idol” will return to the Fillmore Detroit for the first live episodes of the season on March 4 and 5. The March 4 episode will open with the live elimination of four guys, followed by performances from the top eight vote-getters. On March 5 it’s the girls’ turn; four will be eliminated, and the top eight will vie for spots in the season’s top 12, which will be revealed the following week when “Idol” returns to its home in Los Angeles

That was really bad. I didn't think she was that good when they put her through so I am not surprised...OK, a little surprised because that was so off.

It was borderline being tone deaf.
I cannot imagine this happened during a rehearsal and coaching at all.

All I can think is that there must have be some serious editing going on. Maybe her performance was amazing, but that's the only part they showed us? :confused3

Loren Lott- Very soulful, not sure how fall she will actually go or if she'll find a niche in the market.

Daniel Seavy- Honest to god reminds me of Archuletta. I'm not digging his voice,I think his voice needs some more maturing.

Big Ron- Don't argue with Minor, he knows what he's talking about and what will work. He's got a decent voice, another I'm not sure how he's going to do further on. You are not the energy that Idol has been missing. Glad he was cut.

Shi Scott- Good voice. Powerful, curious to see how she'll do with something upbeat.

Adam Lasher- I'm kind of digging his voice, I don't remember him though from earlier auditions unless they never showed him. Kind of sad he was cut but I can see him not standing out too.

Quentin Alexander- Smart way of standing out. Good vocalist too.

Maddie Walker- I'm still not 100% of her. I don't think she'll stand out in country. I don't.

Trevor Douglas- I LOVE HIM!!!! His voice is awesome and I love watching him play. He also reminds me a bit of Jesse McCartney.

Alexis Granville- I still am not sold on this gal. Her voice just grates me for some reason. I'm also not sure she can handle the pressure at all.

Jax- Very different voice, kind of bluesy/jazzy. I think that's what makes her stand out with the girls.

Michael Simeon- Kind of curious to see how he does later on. His voice is very soothing and he is passionate with his singing.

Nick Fradiani- Okay hi sign me up for more of him. I likey!

Katherine Skinner- No just no!

Clark Beckham- I'm liking him. I like that he's multi-talented with instruments.

Mark Andrew- he's one I've liked for a while. I like that he ditched the guitar. I'm loving his voice too. I don't think it will hurt that much he forgot words, it's not a make or break for me. I still like him.

Joey Cook-Her voice is different but I still am not 100% on her. I think though she's going to falter under pressure, second time she forgot lyrics or least appeared to.

I wish they hadn't rushed the last several performances because I do want to see more then just that. Ravyon was good and intrigued me. Riley annoys me, stop singing Keith! Overall from what I've seen, guys are stronger then the females to me.

Details for tonight!

  • The first evening consisted of all 48 singers each taking their turn, all in a row, with a break between the first and second batches of 24 singers.
  • The judging happened on Day 2
  • Zap2it saw three hours of performances. “Of those 20, there were only three breathtaking, ‘This kid is going straight to the live shows’ performances. And yes, all three have emerged as frontrunners throughout the audition rounds…”
  • There were two “straight-up bombs” and “several very good ones.” The rest were “perfectly fine, easy to listen to, lovely performances by singers who will likely have to be judged on their entire track records so far this season, because they didn’t stand out enough in either direction.”
  • There were a couple of “technical snafus” on the HOB stage. One teenaged singer had to begin her performance TWICE before the technical problems were solved. “Fortunately, it didn’t seem to shake her confidence too much.”
  • There was some creative editing at the Hollywood round (press attended group day). Apparently, Hollywood Fainting Girl “did not faint in the order in which it was portrayed on television.”

First up Michael Simon!

Very soft voice, soulful. I'm liking him, he'll be the ladies guy this year I bet.
