Thought this was the Idol thread. That said, except for last year's finale song, I usually really dislike the winner songs.

I think Caleb's song was more his style than Jena's was.

Oh no...I didn't know Idol was on TONIGHT!!! I totally missed it and we were in the room but we watched Real Housewives instead.

In my opinion, Caleb did an outstanding job performing Aerosmith's 'Dream On'

If video surfaces or it's reaired I highly recommend watching the segments of Keith, Kellie and Carrie from the ACM Tribute to the Troops. Keith and Kellie sang with some and Carrie wrote a song for them that is a tear jerker.

Both of Jena's performances were "soft" songs. She sang then rather low-key. I was wondering if they were having a hard time hearing them as I was because they were so softly sung.

Then she rather belted out her "winner's single". It was typical pop but there was a whole lot of repetition in the lyrics. Kinda reminds me a bit of Kool & the Gang's "Celebration" with the sheer repetetiveness of it.

I don't dislike either song. Either could make it on radio. But in this day and age, I think Jena's would chart better. But I could be wrong. I surely didn't see "Pompeii" being the smash that it is.
