American Idol Season 12 Official Thread

See you all next week. As long as my mute button works I'll be watching.

That's it, I'm out until Hollywood. I cannot stand Mariah and Nicki bickering constantly. And I can't stand Nicki, period. If they're still bickering when they get to Hollywood, I doubt I'll watch that portion of the show either and will just wait for the finals. Or maybe just skip the whole thing altogether this year, like I did X-Factor.

I miss Simon. I miss Stephen. Don't get why they have four judges. I guess I'm just over it. :(

Whooo LAWD! I was bawling like a baby the whole episode. From the recovering Anorexic girl to the stutter at the end. They got me good.

Next week should be interesting. Not because of the huge blow up between Nikki and Mariah, but because several of our local High School kiddos tried out and I THINK one made it to Hollywood. Looking forward to seeing her audition.

I said the same thing! Except I even threw in Kara and Ellen.

I cannot watch Idol anymore. I think it's predictable -- I'll be surprised if a female rocker doesn't win this year.

I agree completely! I never thought I'd watch for 15 min and then shut it off. So sad

I watched every season of American Idol up until the finale of the Adam Lambert season. That was the last good season. I haven't watched since. My favorite contestant ever was David Archuleta (2nd place after David Cook). My second favorite was Adam Lambert.

Exactly! Except for the part about David Archuleta; I couldn't stand him.

The last full season of Idol I watched was when Adam Lambert came in 2nd. I haven't watched it for any length of time since then. I think I watched group rounds last season (maybe).

I watch The Voice now. I hope they manage to find decent substitutes for Cee Lo and Christina.

Too bad they never did another season of The Sing Off, the one with the acapella singing. That's talent!

Me too. First season I just can't watch it.

After this season's first annoying episode, I decided to DVR episode two and fast-forward thought te judges' spiels. It was MUCH more enjoyable!

No one has really WOWED me yet. I felt heart tugs for the anorexia girl and the stutterer. I thought the obligatory hunks were definitely cuties, but voice-wise...meh.

I really like the strange girl at the end...even though I thought she was a guy at first. Her voice and talent were refreshing. She's the only one who really stands out in my mind.

I have watched every season so far and my favorite seasons were the seasons with Clay Aiken, David Cook, Adam Lambert, and Daughtry. I didn't really care for last season even though I LOVE Phillip Phillips and picked him to win from day one.

I'm out. I watched 2 episodes and both Mariah and Minaj think their stuff doesn't stink. But it does. It reeks. In isolation, I would barely be able to stand either of them. Together, they are tiresome and annoying to the nth degree. Idol made a mistake trying to make this about some potential feud between the two, because no one cares enough about either to give a rat's hiney. I just want the two to be struck mute. Or buried alive behind a brick wall. I'll take either option.

ETA: Keith Urban is incredibly easy on the eyes........ But even he cannot make me want to watch this drivel.

One of my third graders was even commenting this morning about how Nicki and Mariah just fuss the whole time and ruin the show. You know it's bad when a 9 year old notices it! :goodvibes

The last season that I really enjoyed music wise and kept up with is season 9. I haven't been wowed by anyone yet but the ones I end up liking i don't see till we get to the live portion.

Just started watching off the DVR a few minutes ago. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are going to ruin this, I can see it already.:sad2:

I think Idol's plan is failing. The cat fighting may have gotten it some attention, but it's not enough to keep people watching.
