I am having a tough time with DisBoards tonight....keep getting the "oops Google Chrome could not......." message.

Mine's been slow and at one point Chrome lost connection with the Disboards and wouldn't load the page. Had to close that tab and open a fresh one.

Hollie bores the heck out of me. What kind of accent does she and her family have?

That last note was horrible.

Here is what I thought:

Phillip - Loved it. He is still my favorite.

Jessica - I think this is terrible. Maybe there is something wrong with the sound.

Heejun - ok job. I hope it is good enough to stay around. Too funny asking for Fergie's phone number.

Elise - Love this song, she is doing *pretty decent with it. I think Obama did a little bit better.

Deandre - I liked the first part, didn't like the falsetto.

Shannon - Her voice is kind of thin, bad ending.

Colton - I really liked this. It is nice to have something besides another ballad. Please change the hair.

Erika - Love her voice tonight. This song is a good choice for her.

Skylar - *Not liking this. I don't like her voice tonight or her version of this song.

Joshua - Fantastic performance. My husband gave him a standing ovation.

Hollie - Good job.

Philip and Joshua were my favorites.

See you all tomorrow..hopefully boards will be better. I hate when they go all slow.

Voted for the first time this season, Joshua... wow!!!

I had to watch it all over, that went to my heart! :thumbsup2

My favorites in no particular order...

Hollie
Joshua
Skylar
Erika
Phillip

....this out-of-order-stuff is driving me batty!

Imagine how it is for those of us who missed the show, didn't DVR it, and was totally counting on this thread to let me know what was what. :headache: Yeah, pretty desperate.

We are having several viewing parties, with hot spots so everyone can vote for Joshua! It's so much fun to watch him! And the crawfish was great touch!

My Thoughts On The Evening...

PHIL: "Hard To Handle" Nice to see him without the guitar, just to change it up. He's a TON of fun to watch. I love this guy. Not a "singer" per se, but a real artist. :thumbsup2

JESSICA: "Turn The Beat Around" This song, while upbeat, is not what I wanted to hear from her. It skews old. She's being drowned out by the band. She has VERY little stage presence, and I fear she could be another Pia. This isn't her best, but it's still good. :)

HEE JUN: "Right Here Waiting" This is a little breathy for me and wobbly. He sings much better when he's pushing the sound out. He finished it stronger than he started, and of course I still love the crap out of him. :lovestruc

ELISE: "Let's Stay Together" She really has a nice smokiness to her voice, and she seems much more comfortable doing this than her train wreck last week. It's not her fault but this song reminds me of wedding singers. Pretty. :flower3:

DEANDRE: "Endless Love" I worry cause it never works out when mentors shake up song choices (and this song too skews OLD and weddingy...and it's supposed to be a duet!). He's a bit pitchy...maybe he isn't comfortable with the song? Ugh, falling back on the falsetto. Meh.

**PS*** It's like the judges and I are sharing a brain tonight!

SHANNON: "One Sweet day" Ugh...this just smacks of effort. She's no Mariah. It's out of tune. Yuck.

COLTON: "Broken Heart" White Lion? For Real?? Fascinating. He has an Adam Levine vibe. I love his persona on stage, and that he does music that he knows is "him". Well done. :woohoo:

ERIKA: "Heaven" Must everyone sing bad wedding songs? I hope she makes it something different. She should be standing still at a mic stand. Her wandering looks forced and awkward. She's reaching for notes and running out of steam. Good but not her best. :snooty:

JERMAINE...wowser. Such a shock. The back peddling looks very bad for him. You don't get charged for falling down stairs. :sad1:

SKYLER: "Love Sneakin' Up On You" Oh surprise, a Bonnie Rait song. Well HeeeHaw. This isn't doing anything for her...or me. :sad2:

JOSHUA: "When A Man Loves A Woman" Enough of the wedding songs! But at least J-Dog knows how to sing the crap out of a song. Great control. Great emotion. I wish it were more original though. :worship:

HOLLY: "The Power of Love" I hate tonights song choices. This is okay. It's not the big power "moment" they seemed to be hinting at (that was Josh's). She hasn't done a dang thing to make it sound like it isn't great karaoke. She didn't even go for the big notes (other than the shaky final one). :headache:

Tops:
Phil
Joshua
Jessica (barely)
Colton

Middle of the pack:
HeeJun
Elise
Erika
Holly (barely)

Bottom:
Shannon (my choice to go home)
Deandre
Skylar

Phillip - ok---he would be a great lead singer for a cover band that plays the bar circle!

Jessica - Terrible.

Heejun - Dreadful

Elise - pretty good

Deandre - awful

Shannon - ehhhhhh

Colton - Loved him!

Erika - pretty good.

Skylar - Not liking this-- well howdy hee haw lets go square dance out back in the barn--not my type of music

Joshua - Unbelievably good--he was never one of my favorites but he kicked butt with this song!

Hollie - Good

For me tonight.....

Phillip--I just love him. I thought this was a good song choice for him.

Jessica--While she's in my top 5, I don't think this song suited her.

Heejun--Um, no. I really don't see what the big deal is with him. :confused3 I've never really liked him since day one and really, still don't.

Elise--She's another one that I really don't care for. But I did like her song for tonight.

Deandre--He's one I can take or leave. I really despise him swinging his head/hair all around, although he kept it under control tonight. LOL Did not like the song tonight. I did, however, love the song he did either last week or the week before. Don't remember the name but it had that Jamaican sound to it. He's better suited for music like that.

Shannon--Eh, she can sing but the song choices lately just haven't suited her much.

Colton--Now, I've listened to rock & roll all of my life. But while I think he has a good voice, he just doesn't do anything for me.

Erika--Didn't really like her version tonight. Love the song though.

Skylar--Even though I'm not much of a country fan, I really like her. She's got spunk. LOL

JOSHUA--All I have to say is that I'm home with a knee injury and can barely move but he got me up on my feet, I had goosebumps, tears, everything. He sang the crap out of that song. Just talkin' about it, I'm getting goosebumps. LOL

Holly--I think she's a really good singer and will probably go far on the show.

***As for Jermaine...Well, I understand why they had to let him go but I don't think it was necessary to do the whole dismissal public and air it during the show. No need for that. Just bring him to your office, give him the news and let him go. Then when the show airs, just explain that due to some recent facts, Jermaine will no longer be on the show. If people want to know what happened, they could look it up.

My top three: Philip, Colton and Joshua

Bottom three: Shannon, Heejun and Deandre

Other than Joshua, there were no real stand out performances for me. No one was downright terrible -- they were all pretty much ok.

I totally agree. I was so turned off by the fact that they filmed their meeting and aired it during the show. I don't think that was necessary at all.

As for the music of the night, I can't stand sappy songs so I used the mute button alot

...I sure hope these STOOOOOO-pid boards are back to normal....

...ITA - while I feel he should have 'come clean', they shouldn't have aired his dirty laundry so publicly...:sad2:
