I am glad Randy called out that Colton did have problems in the beginning. I too thought it was shaky to start but was good by the end. I was like oh no, he comes back this year, makes it to the top and then will be going home early! But then he pulled it together.

Shannon made the mistake of trying to make the song sound like the original... not good. Too many pitch issues.

Oooph. That was rough. Her dad was interviewed this morning on a radio show. He said Idol edited that "like your daughter" part in later along with a shot making it look like he reacted. He said he never heard Steven Tyler say that, it was added for drama.

Liking that she doesn't have on the pageant queen dress this week.

I expected more from her this week.

She sounded better in the rehearsals. I agree with J LO on this. Jessica hit some bad notes in there.

This is what I waiting to see. He was out there having fun, no weird falsetto going on. I just went from being ho hum about him to wanting to hear more.

Jimmy: he likes to whip that hair but he's gonna need a lot more than that....
now I don't know if this is because the sound was off for me all the shows leading up to this one or what...but I have to honestly say that was the best Deandre has sounded to me. (that may not be saying a whole lot tho)

Loooooved Erica Van Pelt. That was soooo good!!! She sang it like the Four Tops did, the way I loved it. Whitney didn't do that song one half as good as they did and Erica did that!!

I think that worked to her advantage, NOT being a Whitney song. There was a way to do it other than the way Whitney did ... Which apparently they are going to criticize all the girls for. Like you said, they don't want to hear the contestants sing Whitney!

Boys have the advantage I think because Stevie's songs aren't as mainstream and there are a lot of different styles of his to choose from.

I think this year will be like the Adam scream year, only this year it's the Deandre falsetto.

Skylar sounds like Dolly doing Whitney instead of the other way around! There is something about her I like!

Agreed! I love that she is just a small town girl who is doing her thing and doing it well!

Wasn't sure of her getting in the Top 12 at first but it has been good so far.

That was the best I heard Deandre. Not a fan of country, but I guess Skylar does country well. She is like a little Reba, so she'll go far with her firecracker personality.
