I thought most of the girls did better than some of the guys. At least DH stuck with me for the entire show last night, the night the guys sang he was gone after the third one.

I really liked Shannon and Hollie the best, also Hallie and Erika. Middle-of-the-road for me were Jessica, Chelsea, Elise and Skylar.

Wouldn't-care-if-they-went-home are Brielle, Jennifer, Baylie and Haley.

When they said the stand-outs of the guys I couldn't believe they all said Deandre, I thought he was one of the worst!!

It'll be interesting tonight to see who gets cut. I don't remember them making such severe cuts right away though, didn't they used to vote them off a couple at a time?

Vote for the Worst must've spent all night trying to figure our the Worse of the BAD for the girls last night.

I think they liked Haley's nerve so they're supporting her. I think it could've gone to every single one of them. The more I think about last night's show the bigger my headache gets.

I was HOPING for a female winner this year but it doesn't look like it's going to happen... AGAIN. The last 4 years they cycled out a total sausage fest. I think they're really pushing for Shannon and Jessica but both need a major makeover (a LOT of them need style changes!!!) and better song choices to get a great fanbase.

As for guys, if the fanbase think they're "cute"... it's all she wrote. :confused3
I've been on the Facebook page :headache:, the AI official site's forum is down, and those kids already have favorites who could take a dump on the stage and get votes. I'm glad I have you guys because I was beginning to think common sense was a thing of the past..:rolleyes1

Hollie took the front for me last night...that girl , you could see it, gave just about everything she had and sweet personality to boot. I am not a Brielle fan, but I will say last night was her best performance that we have seen, not good enough to make the cut (to me) but best she has done so far. Elise, I really , really like her, but the song did not go over well. I like Adele, but enough already. Same for Jen...song choice error. Looks like the *marketable* ones,(at least according to the judges) Deandre and Bailey... are gonna need some heavy auto-tuning to get them to survive.
We had another night of the band/back-up singers coming thru crystal clear..the contestants very muted and quiet. That was a blessing for some :rolleyes1 We had that happen last year whern they moved to the new building for the semi-finals..and now they are saying new home of AI again...:confused3
my faves:
Hollie (it is an Aussie accent~adorable girl)
Elise
Jessica
Shannon(but too old of a look for her)liked her acting like a typical 16 year old off stage
and forgot her name, the country Tina Turner..she looked a little much like a Mardi Gras float, but did ok and I liked how spunky she was.

Mardi Gras float!! :lmao::thumbsup2

Randy admitting they gave passes to some guys!

ya think?

I think there is something wrong with my TV cause I'm not hearing what the judges are hearing! The key was way too low for her.

I heard what you heard.

add me to the bad audio group (tho it may be a blessing :rolleyes1)

I can see her doing some of Miranda Lambert's songs...she's got that kind of voice.

ITA...but I still think she looked like a mardi gras float

Haley, Hollie, Hallie, Bailey... I'm confused...

same here...but Hollie made me remember her..she was good!

How many go home tomorrow?

sadly, not enough  I know at least 5..is it top 10 or 12 that they whittle down to?

- no one really 'grabbed' me last night, but I like Elise the best....besides, she's from Kinnelon, which isn't too far from me...:rolleyes1 popcorn::

13. Top 10 through voting and 3 judges wildcards.

Thank you..hmmm, dang - that leaves room for some real ear piercers to stay.
I am hoping whoever the 13 are, that they pick songs with a little more "oooomph" next week..Shannon, the tall 16 year old? All I can figure is she was soliciting the umm, "older" vote in her home state of Fl..to solidify making top 13. Otherwise, while she says she loves that song,( and she did ok by it) that choice along with the whole angelic pageant queen look was way too old and almost depressing to me. Her acting like a goofy 16 year old after she was done is what actually saved it for me.
Can't wait to hear Hollie w/her hair down

I like her too...not crazy about last nights performance, I think she was a bit shell-shocked and got that out of her system. I have to say, I loved her explanation for the flowers in her hair..made me like her even more :thumbsup2

Anyone read the EW "recrap"??? :lmao::lmao::worship:

they were HYSTERICAL!!! Loved the nickname they gave Brielle's Mom!!!! http://tvrecaps.ew.com/recap/american-idol-top-12-girls-adele/

Brielle Von Hugel, legend in her own mind, often refers to Brielle in the third person. That's not annoying at all. If you closed your eyes, Brielle might have sounded a bit like Haley Reinhart on Otis Redding’s "(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay." For like, ONE SECOND. I couldn't get into this -- I could tell the performance got better during the middle but I couldn't get past Brielle's bizarre sexyface mugging combined with awkward, plodding vocals to start off the song. Once she got going, she could at least engage well with the crowd -- which J. Lo loved. "You're not one of the biggest voices in the competition, but you understand what it is to entertain," Jennifer said, and I trust her because she would know. But I disagree that people underestimate Brielle. I think people mostly just want Brielle's loudmouth stage mom Mrs. Von Hugeturd to go away.

Then Randy compared Brielle to Janis Joplin and I almost flipped the channel. But then I was like, "Oh, man, I was like YO," and remembered that I had a job to do.

i don't know which scares me more: the top 10 through voting or the judges' wildcards.

I'm more afraid of the "wildcards". They're people the voters said they didn't like and the judges are willing to give them another chance? :confused3 And there are SO many bad ones this year they're only going to pick from the "Nigelnotes" (totally stolen from EW!!)

My mom used to be friends with Brielle's mom, who at the time owned a baby boutique....like Toddlers and Tiaras type stuff (cause every baby needs a maribou hat!).............

The girls were unimpressive for the most part, and really I know Adel is very 'in' (I LOVE Adel) but NONE of them held a candle to any of her songs. I was grateful for DVR so I could FF thru this hot mess of a show!!!
