The more I think of last night's elimination, the madder I get. I think there are at least 3 if not 4 people who should go before Colton...

....including the judges - did you see the looks on their faces??!?!?

I keep thinking about last night, too. And I've also realized that I just don't think Jessica sings that great :confused3. Doesn't it always sound like her songs are too low for her and like she's pushing her voice down? On the group songs, or at least one of them last night, I could hardly hear her because she was doing that low husky thing she does. Hollie sounded better.

I never thought about this not being considered a game show. If that's the case, it makes me mad if they are allowed to manipulate things.

I'm going to open up a real can of worms here and ask if anyone else thinks they are pushing Jessica and Joshua because they'd like someone who is not white to win this year since it has been a while? I'm thinking Jordin Sparks (whom I was for!) was the last one. Kind of like how it seems like they really want a female to win again since it's been a while. It's like they want to use Jessica to kill two birds with one stone :confused3.

I'll duck now :duck:. Plus, as Robin might point out, I'm complaining :p. It is too hard not to about this show, though!

I was hoping Jessica's mic was turned off intentionally, as in , light's out for you tonight BB Chez, you won't be needing that mic anymore (wishful thinking , I guess.) I'm not sure on the race thing, I mean, I know it has been brought up time and time again...Karen last season (who split like every song into Spanish and English) kept saying how she was going to be the first Spanish/Mexican...whatever her heritage is to win AI..linking herself to JLo. I think it backfired a bit as the show OF COURSE can't blatantly show favoritism to any contestant cough-cough-Jessica-cough-cough for any reason other than singing :rolleyes1

That being said, Jessica certainly would kill 2 birds with one stone..and a few record sales as well.

I'm shocked only because I really thought the young girls would keep him in it, but honestly I don't think he was all that great so I'm not sad that he was the one to go. Every season I think the contestants get more and more medioce to the point where it doesn't matter who wins.
I'd vote for Phillip just because I like his singing style, but I don't think he is AI material at all.

Ill add another interesting theory to this mix and someone can confirm it or whatever. But on our local town fox page someone said it was Christian week so a lot of his usual supporters were busy.

He's going to darn well, he's in home of music city and hey he at least gets to see the playoff game tonight. :lmao:

hmmmm, interesting theory..is there a Fillipino event this week, maybe keeping them too busy to vote? ;) ( and too busy to insult all other voters whoe don't vote for Jessica?)

I liked how Colton did Bad Romance. That was good.
His rendition of September...eh..not so good. It was fine for one track on an album but when you are singing for your life up there, you just have to do better than that.

The judges definitely have favorites and Hollie and Elise are not among them...which is funny because I think they are 2 of the more talented.

Sometimes I think Colton's issue may have been that he was consistently very good, but rarely great. Jessica & Elise have both at times been terrible, and at times great. Gotta have the occasional "wow" moment.

Nobody remembers the guy who bowled 190 every game. They remember the guy who bowled 300, even if he started the next game with a gutter ball.

omG I don't think I've ever heard a better analogy of what I feel about Colton.

Never bowled me over (well, maybe for a second during that STARE into the camera  ) but never made me want to mute the tv and run away.

Passion pushes loyalty, which is something the others have pulled out of their fanbase. Nothing fuels passion like an occasional trip to the stools or a judge giving them a hard time. Colton had neither. His fans must've thought he was safe. That is the death knell in AI.

Great point. I think the way the judges treated Hollie & Jessica a couple weeks back resulted in a voting revolt. It's why Hollie is still here & Jessica nearly left. Colton had his Daughtry/Pia moment. Bet the judges are glad they used their save :rotfl:

OK, I'm just gonna say it. Colton's stare creeped me out. Not judging his singing in any way here, this is about the beady-eyed-check-my-smoulder-I-am-a-Rock God-slightly-arrogant look. I know, I know... I am about to get flamed telling me he is the most humble guy...I am sure he is the best...just saying how his *stare* came across to me each week, I am not gonna miss it.

I am truly shocked! I'm very, very surprised! I caught his final song tonight, just as my grandson was born... 7 lbs 3 ozs :goodvibes

Wow!!! Congratulation!!! pixiedust:

I literally cannot WAIT to be a grandmother. I told Michael to have a child JUST LIKE HIM that I can spoil rotten and send home to his wife and never have to worry about how to pay for the daycare. His days went by sooooo fast because I had to pinch pennies every single minute so I'm ready to just enjoy a little one!

What a blessing!:lovestruc

It's so funny how everyone has such different opinions. I thought both of Colton's performances were very underwhelming Wednesday. More on the bad side than the good side. I have heard him do much better, but never anything that stood out as great to me.

I agree, the judges do not want Hollie anywhere near the finals. But they are trying so hard to see to it that it backfired. As for Elise, I think they really do like her, and would like for her to do well, but she just isn't helping them out.

It irks me how they look so shocked and upset that Colton was voted off, yet just the night before they were saying how he didn't really deliver. If they wanted Colton to stay that bad, they should have fallen all over him the way they did Jessica and Joshua, no matter what he sounded like.

I disagree. I think Piano Man was great. I also think the Skylar Grey song he did last week was great too. I'm still thinking about that performance. His greatness was in his subtlety.

His voice was not the caliber of Joshua or Jessica, there is no doubt about it. He was not meant to wail. But I think he was a very good singer. He also was an excellent musician and knew how to play to a camera. When you compare him with some of the other contestants, not just from a singing perspective, but as an all around performer there is no way he should have been the one to go home.

...yeah, but too busy to VOTE?? :confused3
