Based on the replay clips, I might would've like Deandre's version of "Only The Good Die Young".

Deandre - I love this song but Deandre just doesn't sound good. I think his voice is too high for this song.

Erika - I like this. She really sounds good. And I think she looks better. The short, dark hair looks good on her. I think they needed to do something to separate her image from Elise.

Joshua - Another good performance. This guy can sing and he sounds good with the choir.

Skylar - I don't think that Billy Joel songs should be made country. I don't care for this but it may be more the song than her voice. Her outfit is horrible. I don't think women should ever wear something that adds all of that bulk at the hip.

Elise - I am not a fan of this. I disagree with the judges. Too jazzy for my taste.

Phillip - I love it, love it, love it. *Way to stay true to himself. *I love that he stayed with his look and kept the guitar. When you can sing like that it should be about the music not the image.

Hollie- Wow, she really listened to the image advice. She does look much better. Really liked this performance.

Heejun- Not very good. There were some very bad notes. He gets a few points for having fun.

Jessica - Not my taste. The last few notes were kind of tinny. I would never buy this type of music. I really disagree with the judges.

Colton - I like this performance. This was one of the best of the night.


My favorites were Philip and Colton, followed by Joshua. Philip's music is the only one that I would even consider buying.

Funny night, I really couldn't concentrate that much because the non females in my house are, as usual, causing drama.

Deandre: Wow, not good. He looked uncomfortable. Sad they didn't cut his hair.

Erika: Glad they cut and colored hers!! She does have a Mama Kardashian/Adam Lambert vibe but it beats the heck out of the non look she had before. Great voice but forgettable.

Joshua: Love this guy but the song was phoned in. He still gives me goosebumps. I'm shocked TH didn't talk to him about the tight clothes, that is not a good look in any color but black, which he looked good in tonight. Last week's white jacket was really bad.

Skylar: She looked ridiculous walking thru the crowd, the song was a'ight.

Elise: She has such a non personality. Something insecure about her. Last note sucked.

Phillip: Love Phillip but tonight he was just okay.

Hollie: That outfit was so NOT her, ugh. The hair was nice, though. The song, blah.


Heejun: Yes, we need to tell you it's time to GO home.

Jessica: The only girl in the competition with soul and the CHOSEN one, I still don't care for her.

Colton: Okay. Just okay. He's sort of growing on me, maybe because of the tweet controversy.

I'm ashamed to say I know ALL of these songs. I love lyrics and Billy knows how to write them. His ex wife, and the source of his best ballads, used to go to my gym in Brooklyn. She had a MOUTH on her, I guess that was the "way about her"...

Deandre, better than last week. I like him better when he is all bouncy and more upbeat. Just OK though.

Erika, I liked her too..but nothing that made me want to run and vote for her. I think the hair looked good...really different, my DD thought she looked very old. How come she is the only one that got such a total change?

Joshua...normally I would like, but right now I can't even remember what he sang.

Skylar, what in the heck is she wearing? Hold cow is that bad. Shameless...this is the song that anyone that does country would do since Garth sang it. One of my least favorite Joel songs...so again, just so so for me.

Elise... I like her voice..hated the end that the judges raved over.

Philip...Another good song, but I'm not running to vote for him yet.

Hollie..Better with the "feeling" the song. Good voice, waiting for something more...maybe not doing a slow song.

Heejun.. I haven't been able to connect to him at all and tonight was no exception. Ho hum, bye bye.

Jessica...she doesn't need to power sing all the time, I thought she was told to soften it up? I want to like her, but I'm waiting for a "wow" moment.

Colton..liked the piano, don't like the hair. Not sure on the song.


Overall..didn't really like tonight and I like Billy Joel stuff.

Loving Erika's new do - especially the cut. The color makes her look a little like a Kardashian, but I still like it. It really distinguishes her.

Yeeeeeah...the final bow is between him and Deandre

So..my week from hell happened this week. Saturday I drove to Columbus, OH...5 1/2 hour drive. Picked up DD for spring break and came home the same day. Monday morning at 4:30 am I get a call that oldest DD is in the ER and they are admitting her...guess where she lives? Yep..Columbus. So..by 6:30 am I decide I need to be there..she was pretty sick. Throw 3 days worth of clothes in a suitcase and back on the road.

She got discharged today...her very wonderful boyfriend will make sure she takes care of herself and follows up with her doctors and takes her meds. (she has an awesome guy in her life that loves my child very much). I got back home a little after 8 and then the computer crap starts.

I am so tired and I head back to work tomorrow morning bright and early. AND I get to turn around and do the drive again on Sunday to take DD back to OSU. I told my DH that he should do this drive..cause 3 times in a week is going to kill me.

hang in there! My DD has a guy like that, I don't know if she would have gotten her thru the last 18 months of school w/out him..I know exactly what you mean. Yeah, DH's turn, just remind him of that boyfriend, that his opportunities left with his baby girl are getting fewer and fewer BAD, BAD COMPUTER!


got a kick out of Joey Logano (Nacar driver) up front when Skylar was singing. The race is in S.Cal on Sunday so I guess he thought what the heck I wanna go to Idol!

This is why AI gives other shows a reason to exist. They are NOT looking for voices, they're looking for "idols" and sometimes, one doesn't match the other.

The Voice also doesn't drag on in a way to make us SICK of a person, either. They get up, they survive or they don't and then we see them maybe three or four times total. That's really enough for me.

Also, they actually have mentors who can... get this... SING!!!

Will I Am and Diddy? WtH????? Even Mary J Blige is no Whitney. They need REAL singers mentoring these people, not the ones with the fastest managers.

I thought Joshua and Deandre stunk tonight. Colton was fantastic as was Phillip. Erika, Hollie and Jessica were great but boring. HeeJun was so much fun, I hope he makes it another round. Elise is so not relevant.

yes. auto-tune does not make a good singer.

i will say that i was glad Diddy/Daddy/Puffy called Jessica on over-singing and not being authentic.

i know you love Joshua, but i leave the room when he sings. and during his segment, he had NO inflections or emotion in his speaking voice whatsoever. i don't understand why they can't get people with talent AND personality.

So totally not impressed with almost all of them tonight. I love Joshua but even his performance wasn't great. I did think a few of the girls were okay. The one guy who plays guitar is great but he sounds exactly like and acts just like Dave Matthews, right down to how he holds his guitar. Colton was okay too but not great. I seriously turned the channel when Heejun was singing because it was literally like watching a clip of bad karaoke...

It is so hard for any singer when you have an iconic singer like Billy Joel and they are told to make it their own but also not totally redo a great song. You can't win and its stupid to make people sing genres that are ones they aren't comfortable with and have NO intention of singing if they do win AI! Who cares if Joshua can sing hard rock? That isn't his thing. Who cares if Skylar can sing Joel? It isn't her thing and to try to push these kids into this and then criticize their performances when they do try is just stupid. Grrrr......can you tell I'm fed up with AI tonight???? lol
