I never made a secret of the fact that I did not like Haley. Not so much her voice as her personality, which I think is very important. Didn't anyone notice she was wearing a crown?? So glad Lauren got to knock it off her, if only figuratively!

I am about to sound OLD, but that was such an inappropriate performance for this show.

How did Danny Gokey do with his country music career? Did radio embrace him? He was hugely popular on idol. From what I understand, country music radios seem to be getting tired of idol contestants thinking they can make it big.

I saw him in NJ last year, he was the warm up band before Trace Adkins and Toby Keith - not too shabby.

I'd say he has a pretty good career going. He is constantly on the road and in the studio. He is one big hit from becoming a headliner.

And I'd say they embraced Carrie Underwood.... wouldn't you ?

Im not upset to see Haley go but the Hee haw theme is pretty funny.they should have the other ten pop out of a corn field telling jokes. Maybe one of the fianlist could duet wit Roy Clark.

oh my goodness. i have a headband like Haley's for my daughter and it is not a crown. of course, my DD is nine. but still.

anyhoo, i'm not thrilled about a country finale. but i lost any real interest in who wins awhile ago. i just thought that at least Haley would add something different.

and watching Lauren's home visit--she was spunky again. i wish she'd bring that personality back to the stage. i think if she would have been like that this season, it would be hers to lose. but at this point, i honestly think it's Scotty's to lose.

i don't mind when people disagree about people's vocals, but i don't like all of the judgements on attitude. none of us really know what's going through any of their minds. i know people who are quiet and sweet as can be, but others judge them to be snobs. they aren't snobs, but get labeled as such. so, i just don't think any of us can truly judge what is going through someone else's mind or what someone's else's attitude is. it's completely a perception issue.

Wow, if I owned a radio station and an employee insulted someone that way (comments about looks/mannerisms) they wouldn't have a job there anymore. I can understand not liking a voice, but this is radio..your listeners don't see the person when they are listening to your station. Making nasty comments about someone's look is not really professional.

Agree about the country finale. I hated to see Haley go - she would definitely have made the finale interesting. However, there is no way she would have won over Scotty, so it's not that big of a disappointment that she went tonight. Still hate it, though.

Instead of getting better week by week (like Haley did), I think Lauren kind of stalled out. I really think the pressure was getting to her, she lost confidence, and it showed in her performances.

Why would the CMA or management groups insist that they be played? Radio stations haven't automatically played songs from other idols. We heard very, very little from last year's contestants.

I've only heard Taylor Hicks on Muzak at work. He's not on there anymore...

I just read that Scotty won the coin toss after tonights show, to determine who sings when. Instead of choosing, he gave the choice to Lauren and she chose to go second. Scotty...very mature and gentlemanly thing to do.

We had to watch the show on the DVR. My parents and 22yo DD who are supposed to be in Scotland, showed up on my doorstep at 7pm. You have to understand that I DO NOT LIKE MY MOTHER. AT ALL. One of the reasons my surgery was scheduled when it was so that she would be on a different continent at the time. She's the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral. I had surgery last week, then wound up back in the hospital with an infection and I guess she's been driving my Dad nuts that she just had to get back here to give me blood. Forget the fact that I'm home, healing, and resting comfortably. Now I have houseguests. Yay. Who think AI is "stupid" and can't believe we want to watch such a "stupid" show with such "stupid" people who can't even sing, ohmygosh. Thankfully, my Dad toted her off to a Holiday Inn down the street and left 22yo on my sofa. He's leaving Sunday, so I'm stuck with her until Lord only knows when. I think I'm going to vomit.

Anyway, after they left and we could watch our "stupid" show, we did. HA. The first musical act, was like alrightythen, and we FF thru whatever that trashy disgustingness was later on. I'm sorry, but I want my girls to have some self-respect, thanks. There was great shrieking and cheering when The Announcement came at my house. We thought Haley showed her true colors in her snub at the end and the right 2 went to the finale.
