[I'm almost sad, that I won't be watching the coin toss next week. If Scotty loses, every 10 year old and their grandmother, will be on the floor kicking and screaming. What a riot, that could be...literally. A loser Lauren, well I'm afraid she'll have a meltdown. Uncontrollable crying, mama will run on stage..medics, ventilator, paddles,...whole nine yards.

i wish that they would've been tougher on both of them this season. i wish they would've challenged Scotty more to mix it up. i wish they would've lit a fire under Lauren to bring back that girl from the audition. as it is, there is only a week and i don't think either will change much now. so, it's going to be predictable.

there is no Blake Lewis/David Cook/Adam Lambert "what is he going to DO?" excitement. there is nothing to anticipate. Scotty will sing, his eyebrows will wiggle and he'll hold his mic weird while he flops the other hand around. Lauren will sing with that "deer in the headlights" look on her face, big hair and terrible wardrobe.

they may sing well. but YAWN!

My son and I were commenting too about how Haley looked when she got voted off. You could definitely tell she was expecting to go through.
But....just to present a different side to her reaction, do you think some of it may have been that she figured they wouldn't send 2 country singers into the finale and that was one of the reasons she seemed surprised? (besides the fact she thought she had it in the bag.)
Just a thought. I think a lot of people didn't think they'd send 2 of the same genre to the end.

I know I didn't and I was voting for the 2 country kids. I was 99.9 % sure it was going to be Haley and Scotty.

oh my goodness. i have a headband like Haley's for my daughter and it is not a crown. of course, my DD is nine. but still.

anyhoo, i'm not thrilled about a country finale. but i lost any real interest in who wins awhile ago. i just thought that at least Haley would add something different.

and watching Lauren's home visit--she was spunky again. i wish she'd bring that personality back to the stage. i think if she would have been like that this season, it would be hers to lose. but at this point, i honestly think it's Scotty's to lose.

i don't mind when people disagree about people's vocals, but i don't like all of the judgements on attitude. none of us really know what's going through any of their minds. i know people who are quiet and sweet as can be, but others judge them to be snobs. they aren't snobs, but get labeled as such. so, i just don't think any of us can truly judge what is going through someone else's mind or what someone's else's attitude is. it's completely a perception issue.

no I don't think it is perception at all...in all her AI interviews and how she has acted all season, it is CLEAR what she is.

I didn't have time to post last night after the results, but Haley showed EXACTLY why I haven't able to stand her all season! She had that WTH just happened look on her face! What a terrible loser!! Seriously, would it KILL you to adjust the facial expressions???? She was SO sure she was going through. It was truly the highlight of my viewing season to watch her stand there dumbfounded. Scotty will win the whole thing, but for us country music loving fans...WOO HOO....TWO country singers that last an entire season!!

I wish it was Pia and James. That would have made for some competition and entertainment. Pia in my book was too good for the show but I have to keep telling myself this is based on popularity not singing. I watched at the end last night and was so happy Haley was voted off. Finally! Her look said it all.

Kris Allen sold under 300,000 copies of his. Lee DeWyze and Crystal each sold under 200,000.

First of all, I actually agree with some of the Haley haters! I thought she did look like she was in shock when she was voted off! There, I said it! Of course, that's where the agreement ends.

She probably heard much of the feeback from the performance night, where most of the experts felt she had the best night of the 3. She also probably felt (like someone else mentioned) that an all-country finale wasn't going to happen. And, she is confident in her talent, something Lauren better gain soon if she wants to survive in the music business.

Did anyone think James didn't look shocked when he was voted off? I didn't see any comments about how he thought he had it won. Don't get me wrong - I'm not knocking him for his reaction. I think it was totally natural. Like Haley, he looked shocked at first, recovered enough to deliver a knock-out performance, and then congratulated the others. I'm not trying to make it a contest over who was the most gracious loser. James is a wonderful young man and gave a heart-felt good-bye. He is, without question, a more emotional and tender person than Haley. Maybe even friendlier! But that doesn't take away the fact that he was shocked when he was voted off.

I don't think for a minute that Haley thought she had AI in the bag. She's not stupid. I think she believed she had survived last night, but she had to know that the "crown" is Scotty's, not hers.

You've got to be skeptical of all this big star stuff. Every year it is touted that the winner is going to be such a big star. It rarely happens. Taylor Hicks was going to revolutionize pop music, Danny Gokey was going to "start a movement" in new country music. Although Idol is a great platform, it rarely pays out.

The music business just isn't what it used to be. Fans are fickle. Concert attendance is down. It will be a hard journey for these unseasoned kids. Even big stars like Christina Aguilera were unable to find success lately. Pop stars like Rihanna have had to cancel concerts due to lack of interest.

I certainly hope all of the idols the best, but this big star stuff is not as simple as it used to be.

When Steven Tyler was on Leno recently, he said he wasn't supposed to s way anything, but that yes, Aerosmith would be playing on the finale night.

I don't know. If she was that surprised and upset, she sure did a quick turnaround to perform with a lot of gusto.

No matter what her reaction would have been, it would have been the wrong one.

Why is everyone who dislikes Hayley called a "hater"? I'm not fond of her, but I don't hate her.

I don't think Hayley is talented and I don't understand how she made it to the Top 3. She has an adequate voice and no stage personae. However, I'm sure she'll be releasing at least one album; I can't see her having a career beyond that. I do get other vibes from Hayley, but I'll keep them to myself.

As for AI, I think Scotty will win, because AI hasn't produced a male country star yet. I don't think that Lauren is a strong performer, but I'm sure she'll have a career in country music, much like Kellie Pickler.

oh yes. i remember that. not only was he shocked, he was seriously mad. but i don't think he got as much hate as Haley does.
