American Idol: Season 10 PART III

We had to watch the show on the DVR. My parents and 22yo DD who are supposed to be in Scotland, showed up on my doorstep at 7pm. You have to understand that I DO NOT LIKE MY MOTHER. AT ALL. One of the reasons my surgery was scheduled when it was so that she would be on a different continent at the time. She's the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral. I had surgery last week, then wound up back in the hospital with an infection and I guess she's been driving my Dad nuts that she just had to get back here to give me blood. Forget the fact that I'm home, healing, and resting comfortably. Now I have houseguests. Yay. Who think AI is "stupid" and can't believe we want to watch such a "stupid" show with such "stupid" people who can't even sing, ohmygosh. Thankfully, my Dad toted her off to a Holiday Inn down the street and left 22yo on my sofa. He's leaving Sunday, so I'm stuck with her until Lord only knows when. I think I'm going to vomit.

Anyway, after they left and we could watch our "stupid" show, we did. HA. The first musical act, was like alrightythen, and we FF thru whatever that trashy disgustingness was later on. I'm sorry, but I want my girls to have some self-respect, thanks. There was great shrieking and cheering when The Announcement came at my house. We thought Haley showed her true colors in her snub at the end and the right 2 went to the finale.

what was the snub at the end? I missed it.

wow,, sorry you are dealing with such a not so fun surprise! Did you happen to notice if Ryan said anything about the votes being close between Lauren and Haley? My DH already erased ours, and I was just thinking about how Ryan said the highest number of votes/record at this point during a season.Just curious.

The finale just got better for me, now if Aerosmith would just agree to play....

Haven't read the whole thread, so don't know if this has been discussed or if there have been any changes, but...

When Steven Tyler was on Leno recently, he said he wasn't supposed to s way anything, but that yes, Aerosmith would be playing on the finale night.

I've only heard Taylor Hicks on Muzak at work. He's not on there anymore...

I saw him on Jimmy Fallon a few weeks ago in some spoof with Stephen Colbert singing the 'Friday, Friday' song.

Haley's reaction was quite interesting. She just stood there and does not seem to be a good loser.

If you taped it, she ROLLED HER EYES, a couple times you could see her say "what the heck"? She thought she had it won.

BUH BYE, Haley! I noticed her reaction too. She totally thought she was going through. It was written all over her face.

I didn't have time to post last night after the results, but Haley showed EXACTLY why I haven't able to stand her all season! She had that WTH just happened look on her face! What a terrible loser!! Seriously, would it KILL you to adjust the facial expressions???? She was SO sure she was going through. It was truly the highlight of my viewing season to watch her stand there dumbfounded. Scotty will win the whole thing, but for us country music loving fans...WOO HOO....TWO country singers that last an entire season!!

With the final two I am even more convinced that the show is rigged--they have been saying all along that we will see the "youngest winner ever" . Scotty has been getting the most votes all season long, I am going to guess he will win, but it would be better for everyone's "career" if Lauren won.

I didn't have time to post last night after the results, but Haley showed EXACTLY why I haven't able to stand her all season! She had that WTH just happened look on her face! What a terrible loser!! Seriously, would it KILL you to adjust the facial expressions???? She was SO sure she was going through. It was truly the highlight of my viewing season to watch her stand there dumbfounded. Scotty will win the whole thing, but for us country music loving fans...WOO HOO....TWO country singers that last an entire season!!

I was just coming on here to write this!!! I couldn't believe the look on her face, like she was so sure she was going to go through and then she was so in shock. I'm soooooo glad that she is not in the finals!!!!!!!!!! I've wanted Lauren since day one so I'm super glad that she is in the final 2 Honestly, I'm not sure how Scotty has gotten this far. I think that people are voting on the fact that he's such a nice guy and not his singing ability. He doesn't have a different sound to me, just sounds like every other country singer. that's just me. As long as the final 2 weren't Jacob and Haley I'm all set Can't wait for the finals next week!!!

Hailey had a horrible attitude when she lost shame on her, It was so cute for them to show Casey in the audience cheering for Hailey

But....just to present a different side to her reaction, do you think some of it may have been that she figured they wouldn't send 2 country singers into the finale and that was one of the reasons she seemed surprised? (besides the fact she thought she had it in the bag.)
Just a thought. I think a lot of people didn't think they'd send 2 of the same genre to the end.

This season has just not been great to me. I enjoyed Casey and James and their creativeness (is that a word?) and while I think Scotty can "sing the phone book", I'm just not a huge country music fan. I was raised on it, being from NJ and all, lol.

I hope the next season is better but I seem to be saying that with each season that passes.

I don't know. If she was that surprised and upset, she sure did a quick turnaround to perform with a lot of gusto.

No matter what her reaction would have been, it would have been the wrong one.

It is pretty funny, I posted on this Idol discussion board years ago saying the show was fixed, and got reamed. Why the change of heart, for those of you who now believe it is decided by producers?

I am about to sound OLD, but that was such an inappropriate performance for this show.

I thought the exact same thing as I was watching Nicole Scherzinger's performance ... but since she's going to be a judge on X Factor I figured that's why she got away with it ...

I heard Steven say that on Leno also, however, according to Joe Perry's Facebook page he wrote:

"Not playing Idol cause we were never asked by producers. Brad has gig that night with Hendrix Exp. Its not logistically possible."

"Aersomith's looking forward to playing American Idol next season when our new CD is out and we can prepare 4 a kick a** show if they ask us."

ETA: I just did a little google search and am now thinking that maybe the reason they changed the Finale result show to Wednesday (25th) instead of Thursday (26th) was so Aerosmith could actually perform on it, because according to the Hendrix Experience's website, the tour that Brad is performing with has a show scheduled on Tues (24th) & Thurs (26th), but not Wed. (25th) ... so just maybe Aerosmith will end up performing on the Finale ... I guess we'll find out soon ...

Exactly!!! It was the highlight of my season also to see Haley slammed at the end. You can tell she is a spoiled brat, probably never been told no by her Daddy. I mean, does she not know the meaning of being a gracious loser. Come on, Haley grow up and go growl somewhere else because evidently America doesn't want to see you.

I just read that Scotty won the coin toss after tonights show, to determine who sings when. Instead of choosing, he gave the choice to Lauren and she chose to go second. Scotty...very mature and gentlemanly thing to do.

i think he seems like a nice kid. i think Lauren seems like a nice kid. but that doesn't mean i want to listen to either of them sing.

i liked Lauren during the audition round. but she has gone WAY downhill from there.

on a side note, my SIL and BIL were over last night. they haven't been watching AI this year, but saw parts of the beginning. she couldn't believe it when i said it was Scotty's to lose. she said, "are you serious? i'm glad i haven't been watching then." and they both listen to some country music.
