Cool! Tho I have to admit I thought he was already married, he showed a ring in one episode stating he is taken....but really, how cool that he made such great friends on the show. Too funny about the Journey song, lol!

He's probably right but he's looking at the psychological side and not delving into the business side of the show. It really only makes sense when you look at the demographics of the show and who has the passion to make their favorite known but I've never been the one who went "mainstream"... I'm like Lady GaGa...WEIRD...

Adam Lambert always had the most posts on that forum by far. Thousands and thousands and thousands of posts more, lol. I think Gokey had more than Kris Allen too. And Allison. Don't know how or why Kris ever won.

I know I am in the minority here but I LOVED Kris Allen. From the first week that season I enjoyed his voice and his song choices more then the others, Danny Gokey was second that season for me. I could not stand Adam! He just screamed too much and his performances scared me I swear I still have nightmares due to his "Ring of Fire".

And I even brought Kris' first album and loved that! I thought it was a great album, kind of sad IMO that he didn't do that well.

Might I point out that this year's thread (and last year and the year with Adam) is MUCH less about who we "adore" and much more about the system and who we "don't care much for"?

I missed the days of adoration. Even when there was a disagreement everyone looked forward to their person every week.
Last year -- Not much love for Lee or Chrystal, LIKE but not much love.

The year before there was LOTS of Adam HATE, very little "what's his name" love, but he won anyway.

I just WISH AI would give us ONE bonified STAR!!

I guess we have to agree to disagree. I thought she sounded ghetto and I still don't like her voice.

I never like Jennifer Hudson either and her speaking voice always annoyed me.

Hi all ! I just found this thread so I hope you don't mind that I jump in here.

I've got a little experience (drummer) behind me. I've performed all kinds of music.... from 60's rock, jazz, country, metal and almost everything in between. I've played in small clubs, parks, concert venues and done some recording. And No.... I'm not famous or played with any groups 90% of you have ever heard of, but I have experience.

Here's my thoughts.

As I told my DW..... AI will never be a talent contest. It is a popularity contest, nothing more or less.

If it was a talent contest then Adam Lambert would have won hands down.

If it was a talent contest, Pia and James would be competing for the final this year.

And as far as Haley is concerned..... she can sing but her attitude towards the judges while they are speaking to her is horrible. I'm not sure why she is still there but I congratulate her for making it this far.

Over all, I think this cast has been hands down, the best ever for AI and I think all the credit goes to the new judges. The talent is so much better without Simon, Paula and Kara there.

Out of the three left, I think Lauren will have the best career in the business and then Scotty, then Haley. Pia will be even bigger. And Casey will do well. But it all comes down to the studio they sign with and their money grabbing agent.

I am enjoying this year..... a lot ! Lets hope the next two weeks are as entertaining.

OK, I have to disagree with some of your stuff and agree with the rest.

Pia, maybe. James, no. I found his voice to be off so many times. He put on a show, but I found his vocals lacking a lot of times. Haley, if she would stop growling could probably sing, but she forces that growl through an entire song almost instead of just using it for a word or two.

Highlighted in red the one I really agree with. I've enjoyed this year so much. Usually there is only 1 or 2 that make me take notice, this year I've voted for at least 6 or 7 of them and I'm still voting for 2.

SSB has liked this year better than last, for sure ... and do think a good diverse group of talent. I have to agree on the Haley whining!

Kara put in her book that the producers pick the contestants so don't give any credit to the Braindead Three. They're there to collect a paycheck and promote their stuff.

I was never as disappointed with the talent has I was this year. I think this year's group is bland, boring and middle of the road at best. Funny how we all see it differently. Like we always say, to each his own.

I loved Danny Gokey and Kris Allen. Danny from the start and Kris kind of snuck up on me.

i actually liked Kris Allen too. i bought the collection of his performances. however, i didn't vote for him (or anyone) that year.

i will say, having seen Adam's performances on youtube before AI, i didn't think they'd let him win. he wasn't squeaky-clean enough.

Even Kara isn't stupid enough to risk a lawsuit with a mega company like that. She made herself clear on the Today Show then talked about how great a show it was.. back pedal city. She called it "Survivor".

LOL, on her calling it Survivor. I still think it is sour grapes on Kara's part. If she was still a judge you can bet that wouldn't have been mentioned at all.


Sure the producers decide who goes through, the contestants sing for them first before they get to the judges. I'm guessing they have a huge input on who goes and who doesn't. That is the only reason I can think of that certain people have made it over the years.

Once they are getting voted on though I don't think it is fixed above them (producers and judges) thinking the voting public is stupid and can be manipulated.

It's always been a reality TV show and I never (and I hope most right along with me) never took it as more than that. If you won it's a good stepping stone but only true talent and good management is going to keep you in the spotlight. It gets peoples names out there but it's up to each one what to do once that happens.

It has always been a popularity contest and this year is no different.

I just finished watching last week's show....FINALLY!!

Question: Who is voting for Scotty? What a freakin' cornball. Straight off of HeeHaw, about 40 to 50 years behind the times.

Confession: James didn't sound too good.

Shocking admission: Haley actually nailed her second song. She's the only one that took GaGa's advice and it was brilliant.

Snoozefest = Lauren.

Yeah, I know I'm about a week late chiming in, but had to put my two cents out there after watching it.

And now I'm done for the season (yes, I've announced that several times already, but once more for the heck of it). What a relief not to have to watch that weirdo with the freaky fingers (Scotty) on the microphone ever again.
