I think the girls are going to have to bring it..I mean, for a first night out of the gate..Casey, Scott, Jacob,James, even Brett...sounded like this would be week 3 or so of the top 12/10.

oh well off ot help DS w/physics again...I HAVE to re-teach myself everything...and it is HARD! See everyone tomorrow night!

I agree!! But I also was thinking Brett would be in top 12 too so out of those 5 plus Brett, whoever didn't get voted in will get picked as the wild card.

i will say that i'm sure James will go through. he just wouldn't be my pick. but i figure he's a lock.

Casey is a lock (or should be).

Scotty is most likely a lock (even the really bad country people usually last awhile--at least he can sing).

i don't know if i'd say anyone else is a lock.

Scotty was my favorite by a mile! I am a huge country fan and he has an amazing country voice. I think his voice is the most natural.

But, I do not think he will make it very fair. I think most people who vote will not love how him because of how different his voice is. I hope I am wrong though.

Jovanny -- better than clint but that isn't saying much. would never vote for him.

Jordan -- eh

Tim -- I really like this guy but I don't see him making it until next week. Shame because I wanted to see what he'd do

Scotty -- HATE that kind of music but he sounds like a pro

Brett -- Get. Him. Off. My. TV. NOW. From all the hair flips to hearing a KID sing that song. OMG that was horrific. I cringed and then hit FF.

James -- he makes me miss Adam Lambert. I didn't think THAT was possible.

Casey -- like him a lot but I didn't love this.

Paul -- Like him a whole lot too. Love the sound of his voice enough to overlook the rather um..different...mannerisms when he sings.

Jacob -- he's good. But I was bored.

Robbie -- love that song and I like him. but it just didn't work.

Stefano -- I almost forgot about him. Nuff said.

My favorites tonight were Paul and Casey. Loved their songs and their performances. Also thought that Jacob did a fantastic job but I am not a fan of that type of music. He probably has the best voice, I just hope he keeps it reigned in. I find it painful to listen to that type of music when the singer pushes their voices to the extreme. Scotty has a one in a million voice and he did a good job. I'm just not a country music fan. James was OK.

I really didn't care that much for any of the rest.

I looked at the song list for tomorrow nights show and I was not impressed. Will just have to see if the girls can change my opinion.

DH and I are huge country fans. We were already saying that we expect to see him nominated at the CMA's next year for best new artist.

Hopefully he gets voted off Idol soon enough that he can go do his country thing without the Idol contracts killing him.

I liked Brett, James and Casey too.

My Dad appreciated and enjoyed good, old-school made in the USA country music, and he loved American Idol...he passed Christmas Day of '09 and I am voting for Scotty because I know my Dad would have been if he could, so even tho my favorite is Casey (and for now he is getting my votes too) I will be voting for Scotty for as long as I think my Dad would, which will more than likely be to the last night. The kid is good so far, he will have to show growth , just like the rest of them..that is my biggest concern, but I think his future is already locked up and he will certainly be on tour!

Scotty's voice is just so pure, clean, crisp. I know a lot of people don't like Country but he is just so on.

Paul is going to be fun to watch.

They girls in auditions haven't been as good as the guys, except for maybe Lauren, it will be interesting to see them tonight.

I hear that. It's the problem I had listening to Brett sing "Light My Fire". Just did not fit him at all.

But at least Scotty has that deep, mature voice. And the song wasn't so much about war as it was about a soldier sharing his letters from home, which is kinda cheerful. So it worked, for me that is.
