i'm not a country fan, but i know that Reba is on a different tier when it comes to country music. lol!

the thing about the girls is that i don't feel like i know some of them enough. like, i'm not compelled by their personalities. and i think that, for me, i have to connect to them more than just think that one is a good singer.

i hope that Pia has a great personality and that we get to see it. she did the best tonight.

i don't know if i can pick five. hm. Pia, Lauren A, Lauren T, Karen and Kendall.

although, i don't know about Karen and Kendall as far as the audience is concerned. the audience may pick Naima and/or Thia.

I definitely think the 2 wildcard spots should go to guys, since I really only thought 4 girls tonight were deserving of the top 10. But I'm guessing they're gonna make it 1 guy and 1 girl to make it even.

For starters, I don't know who half these chicks are! There was one girl they showed (right before Ashton) who I swear I've never seen before!



TA-TYNISA: (ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD) Another lousy choice...and a song nobody knows She picked an overproduced studio song that sounds lousy live. And her voice is wavery and weak. She has poor breath control and sounds like she is running a marathon. Can't find any notes either. Blarf!

(P.S, I see that Randy is going to be the only one willing to be honest and say when people are not good. I;m okay with that)

NAIMA: (SUMMERTIME) Lemme start off by saying I do not care for her. She always looks like a cheap cabaret singer in Vegas, which is where she will likely wind up after Idol. If she stopped trying to mug and just would sing the song, it would be less off-putting to me. BUT, she can sing.

KENDRA: (IT'S IMPOSSIBLE) Well, DH likes the leather pants...She reminds me of actress Lake Bell. Anyhoo, she's pretty good, but the song is boring. Poor song choice. And she's having some weirdness trying to hit the runs, especially when she has to slide "up". Not great, but not goddawful.

RACHEL: (CRIMINAL...i think) this kiddo marches to the beat of her own drum. And that cape? It's a bit old for her this song, and she's really "made up". Her voice was straining throughout the song.

Ladies be disappointing me thusfar. Anyone else care to step up?

KAREN: (HERO) Another uninspired song choice. Wooo...wait...en espanol?? Interesting. Her voice is pretty but not special. Did she just do a Celine-style chest pound??? Yeesh. I think she should stick to the spanish. her voice sounded much better when she sang in spanish.

LAUREN: (I'M GONNA LOVE YOU) This is a big "who?". I swear I haven't seen this chick ever before. there is something about her that looks uncomfortable, but so far she's singing very very well, except for the power notes. She loses her pitch when she powers. She needs to simply sing. but I think she may be a dark horse in the running.

ASHTON: (I'VE GOT LOVE ALL OVER ME) She has a very Beyonce tone to her voice, which is good. I like her hair better smooth. She is working the song pretty good. She seems to have this monotone/note thing going on, like there is a definite ceiling to where her voice can go. Also, this song is quite DIRTY!

JULIE: (BREAKAWAY) She is behind the tempo for starters. Another one with that weird monotone/note-ceiling to her voice. Like she is stuck on the same note no matter where the song goes. And WHAT was that note?? Oh honey..no...just no.

HALEY: (I KEEP ON FALLIN' ) Why do these little girls keep trying to look like street walkers and sound like they're trying to lure in some Joe in the red light district? Some age appropriateness would be nice. She HAS a voice. No denying that. but tonight she sounds like a drunk hootchie. Sorry.

THIA: (ON MY OWN) Ahhh...finally. Someone who can sing and knows about appropriate! She has an understated powerhouse of a voice. I dig this one. Watch out for her.

LAUREN A: (TURN ON THE RADIO) Put this girl on the radio. Right. NOW. Seriously. She is a superstar waiting to make her mark. She looks great, sounds great (though her voice sounds like she is about to lose it...too much practice?) THIS is how you do Idol.

If I may continue to make my predictions...LAuren, in the finale, final 2 for SURE.

PIA: (I'LL STAND BY YOU) What a beautiful pure voice. I really like this song on her, and I don't like this song at all. She has a voice that sounds like she's been in the industry for eons. She is what many of the other girls were lacking...simply singing a song...no crazy runs...no fluff. Just talent. Well done.

Well, I had hoped the ladies might be more interesting than the dudes, but alas, there were only a few standouts. The ones who were really standouts blew the others away. I see the field narrowing a whole bunch now.

What happened? Was AI on last night with the guys? I automatically record all episodes and it wasn't recorded last night. I also searched for all upcoming episodes and nothing is coming up for Tuesday nights, only Wednesday's and Thursday's. Anyone else have this problem? I have DirecTV. What SHE said... EXCEPT Ta Ty Julie AND Rachel may be going home along with a few more ambiguous types tomorrow. Then they'll bring back Chris Medina and someone else who blew it. This show is nothing if not predictable.

Steven will want to keep Haley and Randy will want Lauren T if any of those do not make top 5. I am struggling to find 5 to keep, I agree the guys showed far more talent than the girls...however, my guesses for top 5 are

Did I misunderstand or are there not a lot more going home than just one or two???? I understood it was going to be like 7 girls gone and 7 boys gone tomorrow and then down to ten total--- thats correct right?? And then 3 wildcards brought in.

Wow, the girls bought it tonight! Overall I thought they were much better then the guys!

Here's what I thought about each girl individually:

Ta-Tynisa Wilson - bad song choice, that is not a song to sing to really
demonstrate great vocals, did not like the performance at all, thought the vocals were weak and she was nothing special

Naima Adedapo - she did nothing for me, I thought it was a pretty good performance but comapred to others she was pretty average

Kendra Chantelle - she was good, I thought some parts of the song were eh but overall good, but also another one who is average comapred to others

Rachel Zevita - did not like at all, the singing was pretty blah but also she is just so unfriendly it seems, i have barely seen her smile!, but this is a singing competition and still singing was weak

Karen Rodriguez - during the beginning of the song I was thinking "she has such a great voice but is not showing range", boy did that thinking change!, towards the end of the song she showed a lot of range and her voice is so easy to listen to, I really loved her

Lauren Turner - excellent!, she showed a lot of range and has a powerful voice

Ashthon Jones - one of my favorites, she has a very nice voice and I thought she did the song great!

Julie Zorrilla - probably the worst of the night IMO, she messed up a lot of lyrics and was off the whole song, I know she has a lot of talent but she showed none of it tonight

Haley Reinhart - another one I loved!, she has an amazing voice and I thought the song fit her, she even looks like Alicia!

Thia Megia - I did not like her and did not see why she made top 24 untill tonight!, she was AMAZING, might have been the best of the night!

Lauren Alaina - I really have liked her but was not feeling it tonight, I felt like it was an average performance that has been done a million times in a million places, I feel like it was really poor song choice, she played it safe, she has the vocals to do so much more but did not

Pia Toscano - AMAZING!!! she was just spectacular, she has set a high bar for herself now


So with that all being said I think Pia, Thia, Haley, Ashthon, Karen, and Lauren Turner should be six finalists! When it comes to the guys nobody but Scotty really impressed me so I do not even know who are my top 6 there! I think the girls will make this a really good competition more so then the guys right now!
