American Idol/President Tonite

Ok, so I heard that the President HAS to talk tonite at 7:30pm central, and the first thing I thought of is What are they going to do about American Idol? Isn't it live tonite from 7-8central? I'm hoping they'll still have it on, cuz I know I'd rather watch that then listen to another boring speech with no information, but does anyone know what will happen for scheduling?

I would assume that AI would be pre-empted as they normally would do when the President speaks.

Bush comes to shove for ‘American Idol’ tonight

In a match-up between the president and ``American Idol,'' George W. has emerged the victor.

Fox blinked yesterday and decided to bump its No. 1 show to Wednesday so it can carry live Bush's address to the nation about Iraq.

According to network spokespeople, Fox will air reruns of ``That '70s Show'' at 8 and 9:30 p.m. Bush's speech, which will also air on the other major commercial channels and news outlets, will be carried at 8:30.

``American Idol's'' typical Tuesday concert will be taped but will air tomorrow at 8, followed by ``The O.C.'' A one-hour ``Idol'' results show will air on Thursday at 8, followed by ``Tru Calling.'' ``24'' will air on Sunday at 9 p.m.

At press time, network executives had not made a decision about running a crawl during Bush's speech informing viewers of the scheduling changes. But it was clear that national policy trumped preening, at least for one night.

so if they bump tonight's AI to tomorrow, they bump tomorrow's to thursday -- the same night as survivor and the grand finale of the apprentice.

VCR alert. we won't be home thursday night.

How am I supposed to watch AI result show, Survivor, and The Apprentice finale on Thursday all on the same night?!! I don't have that many vcrs hooked up! Plus my DS watches all of them too and he has to go to bed at 9pm so he won't be able to watch the 2 we'll have to tape until the next day and you know someone at school will fill him in and spoil the surprise!

Oh, that explains it. I'm watching the press conference right now and AI doesn't air here for another two hours. I checked the tv guide earlier and couldn't find AI and didn't make the connection.

Watch Survivor at 8pm, tape AI at 8:30pm and watch Apprentice at 9pm!! Took me a minute to figure this out!

The Apprentice is two hours on Thursday--is it gonna go from 8 to 10 or 9 to11? Hopefully it will start at 9, so I can watch AI, but if not--it looks like a flipping event---better start warming up my "remote control muscles"

LOVELY! (sarcasm!) I didn't watch and I'm pretty sure he didn't have anything new to say. I can watch at 11PM if I really want to know before the morning paper! There aren't even any good reruns on (of course, he had the Sharks, the Giants, the A's and the Warriors all on TV this evening!)
