I would also say the same for any cool GOTY accessories. I remember two years ago Lanie's Camper was a HUGE hit even at $295 that it was completely sold out before Thanksgiving. It was on eBay for 2-4 times as much! Heck, used campers are on eBay right now for more than they sold for new.

Oh yeah- DD wanted that camper so bad! I had bought it and put it away for her 5th birthday in February. (Yep- DD went American girl nuts starting at age 2- thanks to my niece). It was all I could do to restrain myself from putting that camper up on ebay when I saw it going for $1000 and $1100 dollars in December. I have to admit that Camper is huge and sturdy and has gotten a lot of play in the last 2 1/2 years.

I put away $5 per week for that camper. My DH thought I was crazy, but DD loved it. I happened to be in Atlanta in late Aug or early Sept that year and swung by the store to purchase it. They were already sold out but since I bought it in-store, they shipped it to my house for free when it became available. It was such a pain hiding that huge box for 2 months. DD loves it and still plays with it regularly so it was worth it.

You know what kills me though -- I don't even really like the Saige doll. My DD likes her because of the horse aspect but I don't think her accessories or clothes are that cute. Sigh. Not about me, I guess! LOL

I felt the same way about Julie when my older dd fell in love with her - some of her outfits.

I will have to say that what my younger dd loves the very most about McKenna is probably her story line from the book and movie and all of the gymnastic stuff. She has taken a few acro class and cheers, so she can do a few tricks. She wraps that all up in her play and it is fun. We even have the cast and crutches for McKenna's broken leg LOL

And what a small world with out dd's birthdays so close and your recent PA location! This will be a lovely way to celebrate a 9th birthday. I believe we are having a sleep over party (her first ever) this year - lunch at Ag sounds much nicer to me!
