I just wanted to mention that my husband went into the NYC American Girl Place store this afternoon to get Mia and her starter collection for our daughter for Xmas.
They are getting low on the doll and the 2 in 1 skate outfit that comes with the starter set. They only had about 20 of the outfits left.
I know the same thing happened last year with Nicki. But, we were surprised that they are getting low in October already.
I don't know if this applies to the other stores but, I just wanted to mention it in case there are others that are going to be looking at Mia for the holidays.

WOW...that's early!
We bought Mia in the Chicago store last month and they had tons of dolls. I would imagine since the new gigantic store just opened they have plenty there as well. Back in January I also purchased a Mia with some of her accessories...I'll be selling her on ebay when she sells out in the stores in early December. I was kicking myself last year for not buying a second Nicki...she was going for good prices after her sellout!
I bet you are relieved you got her and her accessories. I told dh we aren't delaying anymore on the girl of the year...I wanted Marisol a few years back and waited too long and she was gone. I now usually buy doll of the year in January or at the VERY latest beginning of October.

Our daughter has Marisol and Nicki. We got both of them for her on her b-day which is October 10th. (She just turned 5 on Friday). So, we got them early.
This is the first time we are getting one for Xmas. I read all about the search for Nicki around the holidays last year so, I knew we had to get Mia and her starter kit early.
I was really surprised when my husband called me from the store and said they had really low inventory.
I had to lock my bedroom door and check everything out when he got home. I know she is going to love her! The extra outfits that came with the starter set are too cute!

I wish I would have done that with Marisol. With the announcement of Samantha & Nellie I went ahead and got one of each while I could. I am thinking of getting another one while I can and keeping it to resell on ebay later.
