American Girl Dolls whats so special?

I'm hooked & have chosen Jess & the Monkey accessory pack, for DD5, for Christmas. I am embarrassed to ask, but do will she have eyes that open/close? Thanks!

The dolls themselves are not anything special and I agree that the accessories and outfits are expensive, but there's something about the dolls that little girls really relate to. My DD's both had Bitty Baby and loved her. As someone who can sew, I saved myself a lot of money by making her outfits for them and they liked the homemade versions a lot better because they were unique. There are also patterns available for the bigger dolls as well. My niece is getting one so I'll have to break out the old sewing machine and get cracking on some new clothes for her!

My girls love their AG dolls and I do too . We have all of the Historicals excpet for Emily and Addie(soon to come). They each have a just like me doll and we have Jess & Marisol. 2 Bitty Babies and 2 sets of Bitty Twins. We have more accesorries than we know what to do with and We've been to AG place in NYC more times than you can count, AG Place Chicago twice and the outlet in Wisconsin. We're going to AG Place LA soon. You won't regret the purchase (my oldest was 6 & my youngest was 5 when we got started) you'll just be lighter in the wallet.
