So I've been to WDW 8 times, about to be 9 in February. :thumbsup2 I've taken a doll with me before, but only left her in the room. I want to take her to the parks with me, but will they let me on the rides with her? :confused3 Please answer!

Thanks,

What is the difference between american girl dolls and my generation dolls?
I decided that last Christmas to get my daughter a My Generation doll vs. the American Girl doll. Just to see how she would take care of it before getting the $90 doll. The question I have is how is the hair on these two dolls different. I find that the My Generation dolls hair is very dry, frizzy and thin where you can see the scalp on any hair style (from day one). My daughter is very frustrated by this and was wondering if the quality of the hair on an American girl doll is much better. Otherwise she loves playing with her doll. So I was wondering if anyone out there has experience both dolls and what there opinion is? Thanks!

The AG doll hair is 100 times better! I've had both and my AG dolls still have beautiful hair 12-15 years later. I don't even have the My Generation Doll anymore. She never had hair that was nice enough to really play with. I ended up braiding her hair and leaving it like that cause it was just annoying. The AG dolls don't have that issue. Just be careful not to get one with "textured" hair...I'd even be cautious with the curly haired ones. Straight or just slightly curled will give you a better product that will last and look the same for years.

Also be sure your daughter uses the wire wig brush that the AG store sells (or any wire wig brush). Using a plastic brush or one that your DD has used on her own hair can cause the dolls hair to frizz up.

American girls ARE pricey, ($105) but they are MUCH higher quality than my generation. I've had one of my dolls for almost 7 years and it's still in great shape. I highly recommend American Girl dolls. If your daughter is younger (ages 2-6) I really recommend Bitty Baby or The Bitty Twins, also by american girl. The Bitty Babies do not have hair, but hold up really well. They are $50. The Bitty Twins, are the same size as the Bitty Babies, but they have hair. You get two babies (hence "twins") for $105, and you can choose between girls and boys, and a variety of different skin tones, hair, and eyes. I also recommend visiting an American Girl store near you. The American Girl stores can be found in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Seattle, and Washington D.C. You can visit the American Girl website at americangirl.com I hope this helped!
