Hi

Where is the best place to go and watch an American football game near Orlando? Some friends will be travelling with in September and really want to go and see a game. :cheer2:

Any help welcome! :thumbsup2

David

As far as professional football goes,

The closets NFL teams to Orlando would be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Jacksonville Jaguars:

The Dolphins are located in Miami:

There are a couple of arena football teams in the area also:

There are several college football programs in the area as well. Keep in mind that the NFL and college football seasons usually start in late August or early September. Unfortunately the 2009 schedule dates have not been released as of yet.

Enjoy!

The University of Central Florida would be an option as well.

I would see a college game before an arena league matchup. In fact, I think you could argue that a college game would be more of an "american experience" than a pro game---a bit more pagentry and local color at most college games.

Thanks for the tips, these links are really useful, are there any other college games, UCF are not playing while we will be there? Sept 12th through 26th.

Cheers

Looks like the Florida Gators and the Tennessee Vols are playing in Gainesville Florida on Sept. 19th. That game is huge from a rivalry standpoint and the Florida Gators are the current National Champions.

To get the full experience, you need to go to Gainesville to watch the (Defending National Champions) Florida Gators. Gainesville is about an hour and a half north of Orlando. In the southern U.S., college football is a MUCH bigger deal than the NFL.

"The Swamp," which is the Gators' home stadium, is unlike any other atmosphere in college football come gameday.

As a lifelong Gator, I agree with the idea of going to watch a game in the Swamp. A good friend of mine is from Australia, and I went with him to his first game last year and he loved it. Tickets wont be cheap, as the Tennessee game is one of the bigger games, but it'll be worth it:thumbsup2

::yes::

Thanks for the feedback guys, sounds like the Gator's game on the 19th is the best option for a good game. I'll suggest this to my friends.

Start putting requests out for tickets now...the way "Lame" Kiffin ran his mouth about Urban Meyer, this will be a tough ticket. I wouldnt be surprised if the Gators put up 60+ points against the Vols.
