Need some advice from my cooking friends! We are Americans living overseas and our kids go to an "American" school, but it has a very international population. This week they are having an International lunch and we are to bring a dish to share from our country. So...what do you suggest I take for "American" food? I have 3 kids, so I will take 3 things. I have a couple of ideas, but really would like your help!
Thanks!

How about PB and Jelly cut up in triangles, Mac and cheese, tater tot casserole if you can get tater tots. I neer do good coming up with things on the spot. I am sure I can come up with more in a while.

Thanks!!! Nope, no tator tots here, but I could do the other two.

Any more ideas??

If you can keep them warm, how about grilled cheese sandwiches - cut in quarters like the PB&J? Can you do tiny cups of soup? You could also make some cream of tomato soup.

Other than that, when I think "American food" I think about hot dogs, hamburgers & french fries. :confused3

I was thinking like a BBQ from the 4th of July - burgers, dogs, mac & potato salads, and smore's for dessert!!

My German husband thinks Mac & Cheese is about the most typically American food there is, along with PB & J.

Thanks Guys! I think I will do pb&j, mac-n-cheese, and maybe tiny hamburgers. One of the supermarket bakeries makes tiny buns, would be fun to do tiny burgers. Apple pie is an excellent idea...but not sure I'm up to it! No pre-made pie crusts here. What about apple crisp??? Is that non-american?

I really appreciate your help!

Sounds fun! I would do potatoe salad our way....lots of variations in this dish but Americans usually make it with mayo instead of oils/vinegars. Love the tiny hamburger idea...

how about a little display of hotdogs, peanuts, hmmm well beer is out, but root beer done up to look like a baseball game....can't get more American than baseball.
