American food?

We are English and like burgers, ribs etc what disney restaurants would you suggest?( without offending anybody we see this as American food and like to eat it in the U.S)

go to allears.net...dining...lists of all restaurants with all the menu's...and I would also consider a burger an all American meal!!!

Sci Fi Dine In has great burgers and malts in a 1950s drive in setting (few of these theatres exist anymore, but they were once a standard peice of Americana). Go for lunch and make reservations. Don't stray too far away from the burgers and malts - the dinner menu is apparently not great.

For burgers and fries at Epcot, check out Liberty Inn at the American pavillion in Epcot. While in the American pavillion you should check out the Funnel Cake stand (which is a Philadelphia area thing) for dessert.

Over at Magic Kingdom, head over to Cosmic Rays. Great counter service featuring all of the burgers you can eat with a great fixins bar (cheese, pickles, onions, etc...). You might also want to try Caseys at the corner on Mainstreet. Great 1/4 pound hotdogs with saurkraut, cheese, etc for toppings.

Beaches and Cream has good burgers, ice cream etc...

Also, Tubbi's in the Dolphin Restaurant has great burgers...

That's a Philly thing? I've lived here all my life and never knew that. I just thought it was an incredibly delicious, fried dough and sugar thing.

Funnel Cake has it orgins in the Pennsylvania Dutch area in Lancaster PA. I agree, it is delicious!

For CS food you might try Flame Tree BBQ in AK (BBQ ribs, chicken, sandwiches)

The WCC in the WL has what I would call American food.

As mentioned before try Beaches and Cream at the YC/BC. It's like a '50's soda shop with hot dogs, burgers, onion rings, shakes, sundaes, etc..

IMHO, the best burgers at WDW are at the Beach Club Hotel's restaurant, Beaches and Cream. But it is a tiny little place and extremely crowded. If you wanna try it, do it on a day you're in Epcot's World showcase and walk or take the boat from the International Gateway (between England and France) during an off-time for eating.

Another really good place for burgers is at Good's to Go at Key West, and you can sit outside by the water (actually, that's the only place you can sit, it's a to-go kinda thing.) They have onion rings, too.

Pecos Bill's in the MK (Frontierland) has good burgers, and you can get extra stuff like fried onions or mushrooms that I haven't seen at Cosmic Ray's.

Very yummy ribs are served at the Hoop-Dee-Doo dinner show, as well as fried chicken, corn, baked beans, and strawberry shortcake--can't get much more American than that! Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge (which can be a lot of fun) has ribs and other American stuff. You can order family-style or per person.

Also... as stated above WCC (whispering canyon cafe at the wilderness lodge) or even hoop-de-do review will get you both down-home dinner and entertainment...

House of Blues at DTD has excellent burgers, ribs and chicken. Very good.
Big River Grille & Brewing Works on the Boardwalk had excellent (and very large) burgers. For classic American "Comfort Food" I'd try the 50s Prime Time Cafe at MGM. WCC has already been mentioned - I agree with that 100%

You and me both. B&C was a disappointment to us - and I wasn't expecting much because I'd been warned. Burgers were a step above WDW counter service, but certainly not in the top 10 burgers I've ever had. And the ice cream was only OK (we liked Ghiradelli's better - and even that was not as good as the small batch creameries near home).

And I agree with CS, though I think it depends on what the OP wants. If you want a fast food type burger, WDW has some good ones. If you want a real burger, you'll need to go to a sit down restaurant.

Lunch, order from the menu. I love the pot roast, my husband the roast turkey dinner.

Dinner - family style service, flank steak, ham and turkey. Plus characters in 1776 clothing.
