American Express travelers checks/ card

Has anyone used the card that American Express has now that can be prepaid up to $1000, I believe. We usually take travelers checks and cash but this seems even more convenient. I wondered if this could be used easily throughout the parks and restaurants? Anyone took this instead of travelers checks? How did it work?

I haven't used it at WDW, but I have use them. They are good anywhere that accepts the American Express card.
