Has anyone here purchased tix using AMEX and used the AMEX lounge in US?
Wondering how that works, if its as good as it sounds to cool off and have a break/snack/drink?

I'm not overly impressed with the lounge. It's a couple of chairs, a fridge with little water bottles, and a few chips/granola bars. It's small- every time we went in there were 2-3 families already there and there wasn't room to move. It would be okay if you really needed a place to cool off, but I was disappointed.

Yep, it's not anywhere special........

Water, couple of granola bars. And it's cool.

You can recharge your phone there too......that's about it. I wouldn't go out of my way to use it.

We stop in when we're walking by. Grab some waters, use the clean restroom. It's a nice break.

I haven't tried the lounge... But Platinum AMEX can get a good deal at Portofino Bay... $100 dining credit, early check in, late check out, and complimentary breakfast.

Reach to the back of the fridge. They are constantly putting warm ones in the front.

Sounds like I am in the minority, here, but we love it. No, it is nothing special, and as mentioned, it is small, only has water, granola bars and chips, but we like it because it is a nice little break where I don't have to spend extra money to get a quick snack and recharge from the hot sun. It is only open from like noon till 5 and we don't go out of our way to stop in, but if we are nearby and just want a break, we stop in. It is one of the little 'hidden secrets' that we enjoy.

My family really likes the lounge. We always stop there for a bathroom break and to get some bottles of water. It's a nice place to sit and just enjoy some A/C on a hot day. (Or heat on a cold day, because we've done that before, too!)

It's next to the donkey and Shrek meet and greet across from the shrek ride. I've shown the amx I used the buy the tickets and also an amx I didn't use. I really don't think it matters.

You are only supposed to be able to use the lounge if you purchase a multi day ticket or Annual Pass with an AmEx card....you are supposed to show both the card and the receipt as proof.

I have always had to show the card, and have occasionally been asked to show my ticket...but have never been asked for the receipt...YMMV.

You have to really look for it (see red arrow, below)...it is just to the left and behind the Shrek Photo Booth and to the right of the Face Painting Booth...that little door back in the corner with an 8" by 8" AmEx Lounge sign.
