Were you able to sign up? As far as I know, it was a Cyber Monday offering that you can't sign up for anymore (we found this out the hard way, my Hilton card got registered because AmEx sent me a heads-up email, but our other cards aren't - the link says it's expired)....
My understanding is the same - that you had to add the offer on Cyber Monday. DH & I have different accounts, but same card type. I saw the Amazon deal on Monday added it to my account. But DH forgot to add it to his account and when he looked again yesterday it wasn't there.
Are any of you concerned that someone will hack in to your card or even identity by linking these deals together? That would be my concern.
No, we've redeemed dozens of offers over the last year and both the offer & cash back transactions are handled by AMEX directly. You add the offers to your card through the AMEX website, on the same secure page as your account activity. The cash back (statement credit) is added to your account by AMEX as well. By adding the deal, you're just flagging your account so that AMEX will look for that merchant code in your purchases/statement to give you the cash back.
