American connecting time

Landing in DC. From MCO at 1:57 and departing DC to BTV at 2:51. I am worried about such a short connection time. Any tips about what gate we might need to get to and if we will have to take a shuttle? Thank you.

No shuttle, usually the gates are all together if this is American. You will make easily if everything is on time. If not, it’s more likely the dc to Burlington flight will be the one that’s late.

At DCA, American uses gates in both the north pier and the central pier. They are not connected behind security, so connections can require a shuttle.

Looking at flight history, 1550 from MCO may arrive at either pier. Flight 5062 to BTV is operated by a regional jet so almost always departs from gate 35X in the north pier.

Yes it says our BTV flight is from 35X. Hopefully we don't require a shuttle.

Since your flight is from 35X, you'll board a bus at that gate and get driven out to your plane. This buys you about 15 extra minutes, because they wait for everyone to board the bus before driving it out to the plane. (As opposed to beginning boarding at 30 minutes out and allowing people to board until 10-15 minutes before flight time.)
