Despite all the comments about Hershey's being filth,it is not - but it is different.
It may surprise people to know that so-called British chocolate contains far more vegetable fat and very little chocolate - especially milk chocolate. Fat is a flavour enhancer (and artery-furrer). Hershey's on the other hand has a much lower fat content and a high chocolate content.
Chocolate is naturally bitter, sugar and other sweetners are added. The nearest that Hershey's and Cadbury's get to each other is Bournville plain chocolate - but even this has a higher sugar content.
So with all the fat and sugar, it is British milk chocolate that deserves the label 'filth'. There was a complaint by European chocolate makers at one time about Britich chocolate not containing enough cocoa solids to leaglly be called chocolate.
At the end of the day, it is what you are used to and whether you are willing to try new things and acquire new tastes. Taking British chocolate to the US is the equivalent of all the Spanish coastal resort cafes offering 'British cuisine' - when abroad, don't try to make it little England
