We just put our California vacation (including DL during the 50th) to music on DVD. When we get to the pictures of Yosemite National Park, ... America at one of it's most awesome sights ... I chose Golden Dreams. Wow! It fit perfectly! After having visited several NP's, I am so thankful that someone had the wisdom to set aside these amazing places! And the American Experience at WDW is another "wow"! Sends me every time!!!

Pass the tissues this way! I always cry. Sometimes when I'm listening to the cd here at home, I even have a hard time not tearing up. It is truly one of my very favorites!

If I'm not mistaken, I think they edited out the World Trade Center from the end of the movie. I just saw it this past week and I didn't see it and I was looking for it. Has anybody else noticed that?

I saw it last Sunday and it was still there. It's that last shot as they show the Statue of Liberty. Just to the left, if I remember correctly.

The only way I can come out of the show not crying is to keep my eyes closed during the last film. I can listen to the music because it's on the Official Album and I listen to it a lot. It's when I see the film with it that makes me cry.

I cry every time. The Kennedy line, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" gets me started. But what always surprises me, and I love it, is that they chose to include the protests: Cesar Chavez and the farm workers in California in the 1960s, the women's rights movement, Martin Luther King. Then the Challenger astronauts because I remember that day so vividly from high school. And the US hockey players. Aaaah....such good stuff.

I dont think so, unless they changed it from last year. It was nothing special about 9/11, just a shot of lower Manhattan and that did dominate the landscape. I can't see why they would edit it out. I kinda wish they would update the movie to show some current things - like 9/11 and our patriotic response, stuff like that.

I love the show, and always get choked up when they play "Golden Wings" at the end. I am such a sentimental sap . DW and the kids, on the other hand, thinks AA is a complete waste of time. Maybe I'll have to sneak away for a viewing on our upcoming trip

......I admit that I get teary eyed as well. LOL One of the Challenger astronauts, Gregory Jarvis, was from my small hometown so it has become a little more meaningful for us. I was in 6th grade then and can remember how excited the town was, as well as the moment that another teacher came into my class and broke the news about the tragedy.

......I love The American Adventure show and must see it on every trip.

I love American Adventure, too, and I always tear up near the end.

When I'm at WDW, I feel such relief to get away from the problems of the world. DH and I had a habit of visiting lower Manhattan very frequently.
We felt that it was more like a home away from home.

One time, we were up at the top of the World Trade Center, looking out the window, looking DOWN at the fireworks from the Brooklyn side.

DH and I have many wonderful memories from that neighborhood. I even dreamed of living there, someday.

This is why I would NEVER want to be reminded of
09/11 at WDW. WDW is my escape, so I would NOT want to be reminded of it in the American Adventure.
