I finally decided to try one of these. I bought one several months ago, but hadn't gotten around to changing to it. It's not easy filling all of those pockets!

I've never had back problems, but recently when carrying a crossbody bag my upper back has killed me. Just so achy that I couldn't sit or stand comfortable.

I'd bought the bag (probably on a tip here) at a great price (under $20 total). My only problem now is that it is not the most attractive color. Even my 85 year old father told me it was ugly, and he never notices anything.

I rather be comfortable than hurt, but I did start looking at other colors. I had no idea these bags could be so expensive. Any good suggestions for a cheaper one.

Mine is a distressed khaki color - I don't think it's too awful, but I wouldn't mind having a different color where people won't point at me!

I have that distressed khaki color also that I use in the summer and I don't think it's ugly at all. I use my black distressed nylon one most of the time only because it goes with more and I also have a tapestry one with palm trees that I bought at a local store on sale, I've used this one once for a WDW trip but because it is a little bit bigger and heavier I probably won't take it again on vacation. I like the nylon ones the best, lighter and washable. Can't go wrong with black! I've bought mine locally or online from some luggage store that I can't remember the name of right now...do a search and you can find them cheaper than the ameribag website. $20 is way cheap, you got a great deal with that price, I haven't seen anything for less that $45.

Go to LLBean website and then the Sale area. They have the ameribag on sale (for example small is $19.99) in three colors, none of which is brown. I ordered one yesterday in "hibiscus."

Thank you snowbunny, just ordered the same one as you did...that is a great price. There were only two colors left, orange and hibiscus. My favorite color is purple and my favorite flower is hibiscus, so it had my name all over it, LOL!

I hope it's nice, PSL...this will be my first try with this bag. They had a bright blue one that I almost chose instead, but almost everything I own is blue or black so I decided to live a little :teeth:

I am so glad to hear someone say that they like that color. My father NEVER notices anything that I wear so I was beginning to get paranoid. I'm using it and loving it.

Keep checking back to the LLBean site. I ordered my first one, green fleece, several weeks ago. Then went back and found the canvas in lagoon blue. Ordered that one too. It was more appropriate for summer! You can't beat that price and if you can be patient, I'll bet more colors become available when the seasons change! (A co-worker admired mine and begged me to order one for her!)

I just got my Hibiscus LL Bean bag in the mail about two weeks ago and I love it. It has so many pockets and although I wasn't sure about wearing it on one shoulder, I like it. The grippy things on the shoulder strap really help. Even when I have it packed, I hardly notice that I am carrying it. The small is a good size too. It was actually bigger than I imagined but not too big.

I ordered one for myself a few weeks ago when they went on sale, then went back and ordered 2 more to give my sister & mother-in-law for Christmas!! :cool1:

The only thing I'm concerned about with the hibiscus one is that it is a canvas material and says nothing about how to clean it? I have one microfiber and one tapestry that say spot clean only and two that are the distressed nylon that can be hand washed and air dried which I have done and they turn out great. The size small is very generous..I usually order the extra smalls, which are plenty big enough for me. I've been carrying these ameribags for years and I love that everything is so organized!

One of the reasons I ordered hibiscus instead of lagoon blue is that is looks like it wouldn't show little spots and marks as much...but I think I read somewhere that these canvas bags can be washed and line dried. Hopefully it will come with that information~

I once had a little canvas bag (not Ameribag) that I used all the time for our Disney trips...I would wash it with Woolite and cold water and it came out fine. I'm sure this one could be washed even if they say not to? In fact CS at Ameribag told me NOT to wash the tapestry one and I did anyway...wanted to soften it up a bit using fabric softener.... it didn't work to soften but it washed and air dried fine!! :)

Are you "crafty" at all? Maybe you could find some fabric/leather paint and add designs to the bag...you know, customize it in some way that draws attention to the artwork instead of the color. You would also jazz it up with buttons, sequins, etc.

Scotch guard it. I scotch guard everything from my luggage, hats, and all my purses unless they are leather. It is nice when on water rides at Disney too because it won't soak through. HTH

Maybe I can embroider Mickey heads on it in black. I think that would be cute.

Hi,
Did anyone receive their sale priced Healthy Back Bag from LLBean yet? My "Hibiscus" one just arrived and it is very nice, I find the leather shoulder strap a little too wide compared to my others but overall for the price...no compaints!

I bought a couple of them and love 'em! :thumbsup2
