My daughters employer just changed our reservations from the CR to POR. I shouldn't complain, it's all free, just a little disappointed. I need to know what area to request as I'm not familiar with POR at all.
Also, do they have an iron and ironing board in the room? Can I request a coffee maker? How far are the bus stops? Does anyone have a map that is posted of POR?
Everything was all planned and now I don't know what I'm doing! LOL, last minute resort changes have got me all discombobulated :p

Thanks!

If a non-smoker, request bldg's 14 or 15, great location. And read this and see if it answers your questions. I love POR!!.

Enjoy!!!!

We LOVE POR! Just request an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and coffeemaker upon arrival, or you can call mousekeeping from your room. All are free(not sure abou the coffee itself though? Depends on resort, may want to bring packets).
We love Magnolia Terrace. Decide from pictures if you want a mansion or a bayou room. Very peaceful laid-back resort! Boat to DTD is a plus:D !

Thanks so much for the map! Though, now I'm more confused than ever!:o

Our flight doesn't arrive until 8:30 pm on a Saturday. I imagine we won't check in until 9:30 to 10pm, so I doubt there will be too many rooms available. I plan on faxing in a request, but not sure what to ask for.

My daughter will be giving presentations at the CR and needs to be able to travel between POR and CR as efficiently as possible. What do you think the chances are if requesting a building close to where the buses first stop in the morning? She won't have time to wait for a second bus and I'm assuming it's quite crowded next week since we were bumped from the CR. (Tried for the WL, but there wasn't one room available.) Don't care what view we have, just need a convient location. Since I've never been to POR, I don't have a clue.

Thanks for any and all info:D

The fastest way to get from POR to CR is by rental car. The bus to MK stop is very close to CR. But maybe because she is there on business there will be a special bus. For our Oct trip we requested bldg 14 because we will be traveling with elderly family. I have stayed in bldgs 37 and acadian house(north end) both very close to north depot. We liked both locations. Very different AB vs Mansions, read some information on each to see what appeals to you.
I wouldn't be disappointed with the change to POR it a very pretty resort and will be a nice place for you to relax, many quiet pools, nice walkways. I do, however, like to go to my room during my lunch breaks if I am at a convention. That may be difficult for your daughter. But there will be places for her to relax if she wishes. I have never stayed at CR, it seems to citylike to me. Have a wonderful time, you are lucky to be able to go with her.

If the rental car doesn't fit the budget, Bell Services will call a cab for your daughter to take to the CR. Taxis are just a few dollars. To get to the CR she needs to either plan on a rental car or a taxi.

Aside from this, your stay at POR should be great! It is a wonderful resort - very peaceful and pretty. Much prettier than the Contemporary!
