AMC Movies in the rain

Okay, here's another rainy day alternative...the AMC movies in Downtown Disney. Since I hear Disney Quest is very crowded when it rains, anyone have any experience with the movies? Do the shows get sold out in the rain? Is this a good rainy day alternative?

it is a very large theater, and i have seen a couple shows sold out but that is usually only on opening weekend of a big movie (i.e. harry potter). if you decide you want to go see a movie, you can buy tickets in advance over the phone (that's what dh and i usually do).

also, if you are a bit wet from the rain, you might want to bring a jacket or sweatshirt or something. the last time i was there (in may 2002) i was a bit wet and was FREEZING b/c they had the ac on full-blast. i like to be cold, but it was almost to the point of being unbearable.

In '99, we went just before Christmas and found ourselves spending two days under a torrential soaking downpour. (Thank God we were there for a week -- I felt so bad for people there for just three or four days!)

Anyway ... we spent one evening running from awning to awning at Downtown Disney, and then slipped into the movie theaters to see "Stuart Little." The theaters are large and comfortable and we didn't have trouble nabbing a ticket at all (though during busier times of the year, that might be a problem...)

As a rule, I try to avoid doing things at Disney that I can do at home -- things like going to the movies. But when the weather is crummy and your options are limited, those movie theaters can be a blessing!
