Ambiance Transportation

Sorry to be so late with this, but I think everyone should know how this posting helped me.

I was looking for transportation and found ambiance transportation upon doing a back search I found this board. This discussion gave me pause and I investigated a little further.

Ambiance transportations website didn't go up until April of this year. So how has the other person been using the service more than a year? I also called Sunshine all of them listed with Orlando Airport. Ambiance outsources to one of them but does NOT go off their permits has stated. Furthermore Ambiance is operating ILLEGALLY, since something was fishy already I checked with the state, no filings of corporate papers or a dba has been filed. When I checked the who is of the company it came to a Kissimmee address with an owner of a William Hennessey. I called the county and was told they do NOT have a permit to operate a business.

I also googled the screen name of the person making all these "good" claims and found out that newlifenkiss is one William Hennessey aka Billy.

No wonder the pricing was too good to be true on this website. Of course you can charge way less for transportation when you operate a company that is illegal. Yet he has the nerve to state on his site he is licensed and insured. Really? With who? The state and county have nothing on you.

I am an avid cruiser and use transportation companies all the time. I think people in the long run are going to be hurt somehow someway by a company operating outside the boundaries of the law.

So the moral of the story that if you find a site on the internet that states they provide transportation from an airport, than it might be smart to go to that airports web site and see if they are actually permitted at that airport.

There are many of them on the web and what you see for a vehicle selection, on that site, is not what you might get in reality.

These brokering companies turn rides over to another driver and than disappear from the sceme. You might get cheaper rides but guess what you get the lowest of the drivers also.

A grim example: your driver wrecks, his fault, you go to the hospital without checking the company taking you out. Call Ambience and they can claim no business with you. The reason they do that is that they have no insurance and no permitting. They will not be financially able to take care of you.

Another tip is if you get a brokering company, in Orlando check the name of the company that is on that front license plate of the car. You will only see a plate with the name of a company that is permitted at Orlando International. The brokering company will have a name different than the name on that plate.

Hey Edd, I agree with you on most points. But I think the true moral is to check out any company you intend on doing business with over the internet. To make sure they are doing business legally.

I've dealt with brokering companies before for transportation and never had a problem. Even if they do give it to another company and you would be in an accident it wouldn't be the brokering companies responsibility but the drivers responsibility. Unless of course the driver was doing it illegal then it would revert back to the broker because he didn't check out the driver. The same would also hold true for the travel agent which is nothing more than a broker.

Just in case they do send you to a gypsy company you need to make sure the original company is doing business legally.

I always check and recheck a company before. In todays age with the internet it takes little to no effort.

My family is spending our "life savings" on a cruise. I just don't want there to be mess-ups with our transportation from the airport to a condo in Orlando, from the condo to the port and then back. Of course all the websites look wonderful, and yes I'm suspicious of some of the reviews I've seen (ie: Mr. Hennessey style). Can YOU recommend a reasonably priced, dependable service that you have used in the past?

Thanks!~

Welcome to the DIS boards!!!
This thread is almost 2 years old. You might want to do one of two things...
head over to the cruise boards and ask your question...they have a ton of good info over there,
or..
ask this question in a new thread on Transportation. Lots of good info there as well.
I am going to close this thread due to it's age.
