Amazon/ Southwest gift card.

So I have been collecting amazon giftcards through my Ibotta App... I was hoping to buy a southwest gift card with it for my upcoming trip to Disney in October.. I tried it in early March and it wouldn't let me do it! Said my order wasn't elligable to pay with gift cards. I was bummed because i was hoping to get my flight paid for through earning the money on Ibotta.. i had 100.00 in gift cards! well today i went on to try again before i just used them to buy something else and it worked!! ive been waiting for them to cancel to order but just got the shipping confirmation!!
So i guess my question is.... is this a normal thing? has anyone else used amazon gift cards to buy gift cards?? Did i just get lucky?? Half my flight is paid for!!! yay!!!

You know you can redeem ibotta for cash through paypal. That is what I do, so that I can use it on whatever I want or need. I always opt for paypal payments for any service that offers it. Much more flexibility.

Can you explain how ibotta works? I shop Amazon a lot and also like to earn Rapid Rewards points theough the SWA online shopping mall which Amazon does not participate with.
It would be great to get some kind of reward for all of our Amazon shopping.

Glad you were able to use your reward in the way you wanted. I cash out Ibotta for WalMart cards which I use at Sam's Club for discounted Southwest (or Disney) gift cards. That's another option for you.

I don't think she was referring to earning Ibotta rewards by shopping at Amazon, but rather cashing out her Ibotta earnings for an Amazon gift card.

Ibotta offers rebates for everyday products you might buy at your local grocer or Target/Walmart--things like diapers, shampoo, cereal, produce, alcohol, etc... They sometimes offer other deals like Best Buy or Shoe Carnival but no Amazon.
Ibotta is great, I've gotten $125 in rebates from them in 9 mos of use.

Yes. You scan the barcodes on items with rebates and take a picture of your store receipt to get the credit. You can cash out once you reach $20.

Yes... I use Ibotta to earn amazon gift cards.. Not earn them. On amazon. Sorry for the confusion!!

I don't have a Sam's club membership to do that. But I do use shopkick to earn target giftcards and use those towards Disney gift cards!

Trying to pay for my whole trip by using apps and earning points. So far I have enough for a ticket into the parks and half a flight!
